The Luxury tax is too high. The NBA needs to cut that in half!
Ok, dumb question... who or where does all this luxury tax money go that a number of teams end up paying each year??? It sure isn't a stimulus to lower seat prices for true fans of teams.

Paying more in luxury tax threshold should'nt even be the argument people, being in the finals again next season is the goal and the 16th Championship. The Ownership/management will get back the bulk in millions in return. We have the top and the finest players, people all over the world patronizes them LAKERS young and old. Pay Lamar his due and everything will be all in their right places.

We just need him back, Jerry knows we'll buy the jerseys and fill the seats...... Every other team, who sees themselves as rivals, are spending and getting better, we have gotten better with Artest, but we need Odom to finalize the roster. After that all we can do is maybe move Walton or someone to get a pure shooter, Sasha didn't help these playoffs.........

CUT BYNUM, CUT ANYONE TO GET L.O. BACK AT A SALARY HE DESERVES. LAMAR ODOM IS THE HEART OF OUR CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM. PLEASE SAVE LAMAR!

Cut Bynum, cut Sasha, cut Brown...cut anyone but get L.O. back ay a salary that he deserves. Lamar is the heart of our championship team. Dr. Buss, please make this happen. To lose Ariza and Lamar would hurt my heart and the Laker heart as well.

If Odom is greedy then let him go,,I mean how much more does he need..MR ODOM, there are families that can live on less than 24 grand a year, and you want 10 million.. Take or leave the Lakers offer on whether you want to play with THEM or not,, But dont be a money grubbing type..

So what if they offer you 7 or 8 mill a year,,are you going to leave because its not 10 ?

Just be careful where you go..You may end up like Alex English on the old Denver Nuggets,AMAZINGLY good player, but never won a ring,,cuz his TEAMS werent contenders..So leaving might put you on a team that pays you what you want,,but never makes the playoffs..

When I was a kid,my family had nothing but a home,2 old cars, and everyone worked, and still brought in only about 50 grand a year, and yet we had plenty of food,a family vacation every year, and didnt really want for anything.. Think about how many people live on tiny fraction of what you would earn, even if you get your 10 mil a yr..

Good Luck !! But always keep this idea in mind " How much money do you really need to be happy ?"

I was under the impression its a league fine type thing to keep teams with deeeeeeeeeeeeeep pockets
from dominating the bids and having all the best players..So if you go over it,, then you pay into the leagues fine pool, and Mr Stern and his workers have more money to work with..I guess its a way to make them think twice about it,,if you have to pay
major fees for going over the set limits..

But certain teams like the Lakers are money making machines,,and they can make back the fees id say pretty easily..

Now, is the time for this team to become true team players by, extending a hand in lifting some of this financing burden. I truly believe that with both Artest and Odom, would create nightmares for any opponent, on both sides of the court. Come on Pau Gasol, Kobe, Derick, and especially Bynum, put your chips together and get Odom's deal done. This is too special to just let him walk into the arms of a contender. If each would put up around 500K, this should get it done. The money you invested will be returned in one or two years by winning championships. Lamar, you know this is your town! So, work with us to keep you where you need and desire to be, a "Laker" forever! ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL

Rough spot for both Lamar and the Lakers to be in. But LO was highly overpaid for a few years before this one where he was just "not there" for the Lakers, while getting 11 mil+. If only they could rescind contracts; Morrison and VujaBrick contracts. Both those guys should be playing for Timbuktu. Then they have Bynum. He needs to be sent to a Shrink pronto. Right now he hasn't proved any worth. And lastly there is No Hoop Walton. Too many Lakers are overpaid, but nothing can be done to change that. I think Lamar deserves 8 mil not to feel insulted, but these are bad economic times even for winners like the Lakers. Artest could have gotten 9-10 mil somewhere else. "If you can't live on 33 mil then you can't live" - said by RA. So I hope LO understands that if he can get 4-5 year contract in these bad economic times he is doing very well because he is still a question mark every night he's on the floor. Will we get the Good or the Bad Lamar? I hope he can get 8 and be content. He made out for 4 years when his play was mediocre.

lakers need odom, so as odom need kobe and lakers. odom talent is complement of rodman, man who can defend and rebound. one thing also lakers need is to have a pure 2nd five player because they don't have shooter to shoot for three. why haven't the lakers pick up Anthony parker of toronto of whioch we know his sister plauy for sparks. par5ker has 3 point capbility and versatile so as same as ariza. ariza won't last long in houston coz we aklkl know his injury prone. wear and tear is the game of houston.
