The big reason he never should have been champ is the boy could never take an ill handling, missed set up car and get a decent finish. Tony has taken ill handing cars and cars Zippy has apologized for to victory. That is clearly why Jimmie is not near as good as his record would show.A monkey can drive a perfectly set up car.... He should be kissing chads/ricks butt and being their personal biotch for those championships. and for the the possible HOF nomination once he is done. Tony has done this with multiple teams and multiple manufactueres.

The subject has come up on twitter quite a few times . The fact Nascar stopped drivers from practicing on tracks that R in the chase.It has hurt the up & coming driver that R comeing up from NW cup. And back when the could practice on chase tracks . What drivers left the race to go practice for the next race WELL lets make it easy .What drive admitted to refusing to practice SMOKE. Can you imagine the races & championships Smoke could have won if he had put a little effort into practicing?? People can trash the guy all the want . But with all the hrs he and Chad put into practicing & sacrificed their personal lives .#1 JJ should have a good handling car.I would bet money Smoke would rather have a good handling car then a bad one. Remember how he complained about neck & back pain . As far as car manufactures go I do not believe SMOKE was even born when Cup cars were running the actual manufacture parts.I am pretty sure they stared using stock built engine & chassis by the 1960s I Think !!

Can you believe the 2nd grade mentality? Except for you, Lisa, Luv4Racing, NY Nascar, Catrod, and a few others, this place is not worth coming to. As I've said before, it's a trainwreck. You don't wanna see it, but you just can't look away. I was sitting in church today thinking about this place and the people who post. I'm sure God is disappointed in all of us. We have all taken pot shots at one another; we have all been rude and ugly and baited one another. This is NOT a place I think He would visit, except He is always with us, His children.

Very insightful my friend - but we must remember Jesus commissioned his followers to be witnesses, and a light in a sin-blackened world. There are all kinds of Nascar fans, some kind, some not so kind, some funny, some not so funny, some believers in our God, some not, and some searching.

I want to believe He is proud that we proclaim our faith, but we must do so gently to hopefully provoke others to thought and not to anger.

I am grateful He has allowed us to find each other for moral and prayer support.

BTW Debi - I'm not a JJ fan either and as hard as I've tried, I just can't respect his 5-yr domination of Nascar - but we can't change the record books or let it raise our BP.

To the future - here's to a safe and fun running of the Shootout, Duels and Daytona 500!

OMG... I was just posting this HUGE post and it disappeared.. that SUCKS.. but what I was getting at was that the design of the COT made practicing a mute point because it favored the lead car, the car with "clean air" so much.. that popssibly Tony and Zippy did not want to waste GAS, or their TIME... but rained out qualifying days also GAVE Jimcreep that first pit stall, from which there is no speeding penalty.. that is very important for people to remember.. Jimcreep could peel out of that first pit stall at full power when everyone else could not go over the pit road speed limit, which is SLOW... and chad knew that and that is why the ONLY racing they truly did was on qualifying day, if it has not gotten conventiently rained out

also, the political climate in NASCAR was that a BIG mouth named DW had a microphone in his hand that he could and did LAMBAST Tony and any other driver that he felt was too aggressive... DW had fans screaming at drivers like Tony who moved guys out of their way.. now,, if people were at the TRACK,, they KNEW all drivers use their bumper.. the TV does not catch certain drivers but the fans at the track do see it and so THEY know the TRUTH that even jimcreep and marky mark will use their bumpers if need be and even squeaky clean Jeff Gordon, in fact,, THAT is why I started to dispise him,,, he had been my driver because of TV BIAS until I SAW him NOT allow competitors to race him... Jeff Gordon is a CHUMP on track..

but anyhow... Maky Mark, also, a guy who if the best cars have not crashed out, needs to have a caution catch those best cars in the pits to get a decent finish.. that guy told Tony "Tony,,, you're too maean.. no one likes a guy to race them like you race them., if you want to have friends, my friend,, you gotta let people get by you with no challenge,, race them the way you WISH to be raced"... and that is why when Jimcreep would be in peoples rearview mirror,, he went by like a knife through room temperature butter.. no racing...
the LAST regular race I went to was when Jimcreep CHEATED to get a decent pit stall at Dover.. he qualifed 21st and I SO looked foraward to watching him deal with pit road traffic like everyone else.. but no... Chad managed SOMEHOW to get the 3rd pit stall, behind AJ and Martin Truex so soon Jimcreep had the FIRST pit stall... that was the LAST regular race that I counted on a legitimate race from NASCAR... but then watching tony with jimcreep coming up on him at the end of that race... jimcreep, that pit stall STEALER,, the CHEATER... Tony did not hold him up whatsoever.. and that was the day I said "no more money going in hopes that NASCAR will not let Chad and Jimmie get an advantage over the rest of the competitors."
NOW that TONY has brought BACK racing each and every single lap from the drop of the green, 3 wide restarts... maybe just MAYBE they will get fans to buy tickets again..
