Letter I wrote to XM/Sirius....

I am wondering why you don't add the NASCAR channel to your online / iPhone service line-up. There are MANY great daily programs featuring interviews with not only the drivers, but promoters and other celebrity types that share a love for the motors sport. If you think about it, NASCAR is really turning into a sport with one of the largest sponsor / family fan bases, versus most other sports. So I ask you to take into consideration that there are programs worth listening on this channel other than the race itself and currently the only way to listen is to go out and sit in your car [kinda apropos if you think about it!]. To quote my seven year old son... "How silly is that?"

Thank you for your considering my request that is shared by NASCAR fans.

“thank you Lord”

Please explain how!?! My friends and I have XM with the "Best of Sirius" and sadly the best of channels are not offered on the iPhone or online only in your car. That's why I started this, I think its a sham that you're charged extra, but.... you don't get those extra channels except for in your car!!

I have Sirius and my membership is up in May. I'm not sure if I will renew, since I don't really need or want the expense anymore. I always thought it was a bad idea to charge extra for internet access, esp. since you don't offer all the channels. I was hoping that the merger with XM would bring some much needed improvements, but it really hasn't done anything to improve the quality of programming. You would think they would want to keep as many subscribers as possible since they aren't doing well financially.

I wonder if the reason that NASCAR channel is not available on the internet has to do with the contract that Sirius has with NASCAR??? If they want $$$, they might want to re-negotiate that contract...It's not like NASCAR is in the business of turning away money.

Here's the explanation from The Daly Planet which many NASCAR channel hosts have reiterated over and over: TDP has already discussed the log jam that is in place between Sirius and the Turner Interactive Group that owns the NASCAR.com website. In simple terms, the current NASCAR deal with Turner allows Turner to control all online NASCAR content. That includes audio and video applications.
Among other things, this means that Sirius Channel 128's audio content cannot be streamed to desktops and laptops.

Ugh! Why am I not surprised that Turner Broadcasting, Inc. was behind it...
Don't know who is worse--Ted Turner or Rupert Murdoch...

You can listen to NASCAR live on your Iphone. And it's free!! Go to your Apps and download AOL Radio, then run ESPN Radio1300. PRN cover the race last weekend. I don't know if ESPN covers MRN or not. Let's hope. Happy listening!! Go Gordon!!!

While appreciate everyone's advice on how to listen to races on my phone... I knew those ideas already.

Here's the problem, why doesn't XM/SIRIUS allow you to listen to races on your phone or computer. I am a XM subscriber that purchased the "Best of Sirius" and with that comes Playboy, Howard, Martha, etc. and Nascar and you can listen to all of those channels except for one on your computer and i-phone. Anyone care to guess which one you can only listen to on your car radio!?!
What I'm asking for is for people to show their love of NASCAR and wanting to have full access to a channel that they are or would be paying for to XM.

PS. yes I'd switch to Sirius if I could but my car came with a manufacturer built in XM radio.

Hey it's 2011 not 1990 Nascar needs to get off their asses and work out a deal with Turner to broadcast the races via iphone and android devices!! I mean we all have smart phones now and Turner is just not being smart, the easier to watch the race the more fans you'll generate. The more fans the more $$$ Turner and Nascar will make. I just wish they were Nascar fans also, but all they are fans of is $$$$ the hell with the fans. Nascar is going to lose even more fans byTurner blocking the races from being allowed to be viewed on smart phones. Grow up guys and get your shit together! Just a fan with a smart phone like a few million other fans!

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
