I ordered it yesterday. FYI to anyone interested you save $20 by ordering before 2/1/07. Now I think I'll have to cancel the raceday scanner on Nascar.com .

My brother gave me the money for HotPass. I think it was his way of making up for rubbing it in my face that he's going to Datona and will be doing the whole week prior events.

Raceday scanner was nice last year to anyone who doesn't have the funds for Hotpass or Directv. This year they are going to have the option of listening to all drivers communications. Last year you only have a few of them. And Tony wasn't one of them. You could only hear him if you had it on scan all and they landed on his radio.

hot pass did not live up to the hype. Too much talking over the driver and spotter. Commercials were shown. Got more in car from the fox network broadcast. Last year on cable we could ride in car the whole race, this is not worth the money.

Hot pass sucks! I agree dfanti298, the commercials ruined it. They showed the driver's angle in a small window when commercials were on and the commentating throughout the race was annoying to say the least. You couldn't always here the drivers. Comcast was much better.

I agree the commercials ruined it for me too. Do they really expect people to pay to watch commercials!

I realize this is a new package and hopefully they will be working out the kinks, but I still have to say I'm very disappointed with yesterdays premire of NASCAR Hot Pass on DirecTV.
If it doesn't improve through the season, I will not be re-ordering next year. I can get just about everything I got yesterday for FREE on Fox Network TV! Found myself on Fox Network Station more than Hotpass Channels yesterday anyway.
I paid for Hotpass Service and upgraded all my receivers to take full advantage of it's offerings......all for naught! Alot of money I didn't need to spend.
SUGGESTIONS:
Get rid of the commercials or at least let us override the commercial audio with Hotpass Audio.
Stop the commentators talking over the Driver's Audio, everytime the driver had something to say the commentators were yacking!!
Put the SOUND of the CARS on more (again, stop the commentator bantering).
Give us one full screen view of the race with no commentary with some appropriate music in the background on a separate channel, so we don't have to keep flipping to FOX Network to get a full screen view of the race.
The in car camera box was so small you need a magnifying glass to see it, so was the race view during the commercials. If we have suffer through commercials, at least put them in the Small box and the RACE in the BIG BOX. I paid to watch the race, NOT TO WATCH COMMERCIALS!!!!!!!!!
Kill the 5 and 6 camera views all on one screen, The race, the in car, the driver interview, pit cam etc, all on at the same time on one screen is way too much to look at simultaneously. A Max of 3 views is enough.
My Review - THUMBS DOWN DIRECTV! I really thought it would be MUCH better and I would actually get something in return for my $$. Shoulda know better......

I was very disappointed for all the same reasons mentioned above. Give me back the Driver, spotter, crew chief and some motor noise and get rid of the rest of the BS. Last years in car view was far better !!!!!!

But during the commercial, you still get to see what is happening on the track. Fox is in the upper right corner, Hotpass in the lower left. So you hear and see the commercial on Fox.

I hope they work the kinks out. The one time Stewart started talking to Zippy, they went to commercial.

Although it was fun to hear him call Zippy "Boss."

I think the hot pass is a load of crap the only advertising i see is earnhardt saying come watch the race in my car (EVERYRACE) BUT NOW HE IS NOT ON THERE this week i payed for the hot pass so i could watch the jr. channel and i think it is false advertisment
