Unfortunately, IndyCar, like other motorsports, is suffering under the reign of the machines. If you have a big budget, fancy wind tunnels and all the finest milled parts at your disposal you can eek out extra laps and speed. The racer is still important but no longer able to overcome the effects of engineering. IndyCar is the best racing style, in my opinion, but more power needs to be put in the hands of the drivers. Let them battle it out. "Push to pass," or "overtake" is a small but good step. Much more needs to be done including the introduction of engines besides Honda. The original purpose of Indy was to build a better, faster car. Limiting speeds is understandable, but turning it into an engineering event is something better left for the science fair.
