Matt Kenseth won the pole position for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Phoenix, while title contenders Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart qualified in the top 10.

Matt Kenseth chase hopes are dead in the water. I think this might have been his last chance to win another one the right way instead of the messed up old point systems way. Sad.

well, Tony IS the leader of any other way to count points.. it is impossible to beat 4 wins inside the championship... Matt is a nice guy but he just got wrtecked and lost any possiblity of duking it out with Smoke,, instead Carl has the honors of running for Rousch... and I am certain Matt has been given orders of ensuring that Carl beats Tony this week to take him out of contention.. I hope Tony will have a clean true race today.
