I guarantee they've done it before and not got caught. Adulterer, embezzler and liar heads the team.

I think NASCAR cuts the Hendricks team too much slack. They need to get a grip. I've seen that team get away with far too much that other teams get warnings and penalizations for. Treat 'em fairly, they're no better than any other drivers and they aren't gods. The moment they realize they can get away with it once (thank goodness it wasn't this time...) they'll do it again.

Nascar said they were within the rules, just close to the edge. I am not sure where some of you are coming from. You need to do a little research. If within the limits allowed, it is not considered cheating folks.

I also read several driver interviews today from drivers not affiliated with Henedricks. They ALL said it was inbounds, and if their crew chiefs are not pushing close to those tolerances provided by NASCAR, that they need to be.

And to Misty, they were caught doing nothing wrong, just told they were close to the edge.

Mark Martin said it best today when interviewed. "My car has been to the R&D center more then any other car on the circuit this year." If they were cheating, why was it not caught. With the 5 victories this season, and the car called in again last weekend, that makes 6 trips to the R&D center for the 5 car alone. NASCAR would have confiscated the car if out of spec.

I do not care for the 48 team, but they have been caught cheating before, and they were punished pretty heavily for their infraction. I agree with it 100% if they are doing something outside of the rules to gain an advantage no matter the team cheating.

Well said. Your comments reflect my posting from another thread. I will also point out that, not only has the 5 team been to the R&D Center 6 times, but the 48 has been there at least 4 times (no idea whether or not they've been tagged as the random pick at some point this year.) I'd like to also point out that, yes the 48 team has been tagged with penalties a few times, which really doesn't support these theories that they get away with stuff constantly. Chad is a meticulous, innovative, Crew Chief. He pays very close attention to how the rules are written and finds whatever advantage he can, within those rules. When you do that, sometimes you push a little to far and you suffer the consequences.

All this nonsense about cheating is foolish. If anyone is really that naive, than I seriously wonder how they make it through a day on this Earth. Every Crew Chief out there either does what Chad does, or their just not as talented and creative as Chad is. This, holier than thou, attitude from some of these posters is complete gibberish. If they choose to be dumb enough to believe that every one of these teams isn't doing everything in their power to find an advantage, than they truly are fooling only themselves.

I also keep hearing all this nonsense, about how Hendrick keeps getting away with things others are penalized for. People claim they're tired of seeing this over and over. Why don't some of you enlighten us to all these times you've seen these things. I'd be interested to hear some specifics, not just comments with no substance backing them up.

More BS from NASCAR. Either the cars pass or fail, there's no inbetween. The HMS cars passed post race inspection, end of story. Rick Hendrick should tell those too fat creeps (Helton & France) to shove it!

The very fact that NASCAR warned them that the cars were "Close" gives reason for speculation, why warn the owner or crew chief of a legal car that their car is "Just Legal"? Either the car passes or does not, why warn, it is like pointing a gun, why point if you have no reason to shoot? I do agree with John that every team out there is pushing the limits of the rules, a former and two time Bush champion, Tommy Ellis, once told me that if your car passes the tech line the first time you are not trying hard enough.

I will say that I DO believe that Roush and Hendrick cars are sometimes given the benefit of the doubt. Since Brian and NASCAR leans so heavily on these two as in R&D for the COT in the Hendrick case and the only supplier of Ford racing parts and pieces on the Roush case that NASCAR does not really wish to cost either of them a chance at a championship by making a "Close Call" against them, especially in the last ten races. Think of it this way, how many years and times have people made reference to the Carb Spacer that cost Mark Martin a championship when he was with Roush?

NASCAR, either the cars were legal or not, if they were not, then call them on it, if they were then STFU.

John and Furious. Thank you. As a Jimmie fan it has been hard to read all the ugliness but like you I did do the research and read all the news reports. But sometimes trying to explain it to people who just don't like JJ or HMS is like talking to a wall. All they see are the headlines, come on here and make short, one line comments without any substance as you've said. Its really sad because now any races JJ or Mark should win (or possibly the championship) will be tainted. I hear alot of people say they'll never watch Nascar again or its falling apart. Then my suggestion would be to not watch it.

If the 48 was illegal, I firmly believe that Knaus would be in Charlotte not Kansas given his past record. They were too close for Nascar's comfort and were warned. They pushed the rules, didn't break them. Isn't that what they are supposed to do????

I don't think if Mark or Jimmie win, either races or the championship, it will be tainted. I get the feeling you wouldn't really find it tainted either, nor would many others out there. The only ones who will find it tainted, is the Hendrick/Jimmie haters out there. They would have complained and accused regardless of this non-incident. What it comes down to for me, is a simple matter of not caring how they view it. In the end, the only opinion/view that really matters to me, is mine. If people agree with me, as some do, that's all fine and dandy. If they don't agree, that's fine too, but I just shrug those naysayers and their comments off. Nothing those people have to say, will taint any joy I get from seeing Jimmie, Mark or anyone else I choose to root for be successful.

That pretty much sums it up. Short and sweet! This is really a non-issue. If some choose to view it as something more than it is, it's their right to be wrong.

Your absolutely right. No it won't be tainted for me either because I'm a true fan. What I meant was that all the haters would be all over it and try to take the spirit out of it for those of us who are fans. I just get so tired of these little one liners or posters that don't have a clue because their so one sided.

I completely agree. People should move on, but not forget the track record of Knaus.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Scorpio

Today's Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon stirs up powerful emotions during the next two weeks (as it has done since the Gemini Solar Eclipse last month), and it may not be a very pleasant experience. Are you feeling rather compulsive and obsessive? Financial issues could be a problem,, especially if they appear to threaten your sense of emotional security. Don't let jealousy or envy make you do things that will set other people against you.
