Jr just screwed up by saying he's finally getting cars built like his teammates. now what are people going to say when he starts finishing in the mid 20s again ?

Why should you care? By your screen name, you are no longer a fan. Why is that? True diehard Nascar fans stick with thier drivers no matter what. Through thick and thin. They don't go switching drivers just cause thiers is not doing well.

So now Jr's blaming the Hendrick organization for his pathetic season... I think it's time Jr went and started his own team. He's going to be one very busy boy because apparently only he knows how to do everything right. So he'll be the only one on the payroll at his team. Pit stops will sure be interesting

besides, he would rather take vacations than be at the race shop trying to make the team and cars better. that don't sound like someone who cares about racing to me

Sorry, but I would MUCH rather see a driver be passionate about not winning then one who doesn't seem to care as long as he's got a big bank account. Nice guys finish last and Jr is a good example. Who's been more fun to watch this year...Kyle charging from the back and going to the front or JR. speeding to the back and staying there? Jr. thought all his troubles were over when he left Teresa and DEI. No, he took his troubles and weaknesses with him.

Honestly, he's going to have to be careful about what he says. Saying that he's finally getting the same thing that Jimmie and Jeff have is implying he's been screwed by Hendrick. How long is Hendrick going to put up with that?

As I am sure you realize that just because one is from the same team doesn't mean they set their cars up the same. Each driver likes a different driving style, so therefore the setup will differ. I think that is what Jr. was saying.. He has had great equipment at HMS. and we all know that.

how the heck does saying "I enjoy racing for fun" make you race just for money? Umm I like playing baseball for fun. Where's my check? When Jr says he races for fun, jr "ball swingers" say he's racing only for money. When jr merely says that he's happy to be using similar setups to that of his teammates rather than what he and tony jr used before, the "ball swingers" say he's making an excuse. Listen people once and for all. Jr has owned up to everything to date. These excuses everyone talks about? Well that's just a product of what happens when people who don't like someone try to ad lib here and there to everything they say. And by the way, Jr is the most popular driver. GET OVER IT. Whether it's for selling t-shirts or whatever, he's still the most popular.

even Mark Martin was pissed and refused to talk to the media after he ran out of gas last week. but Jr would talk to them and say "boy that was real cool and we'll get them next week".what i'm trying to say it's alright to get pissed about something every now and then but not everytime.that tells me he don't care if he wins or finishes 30th

I could care less about where he is on the track. I know when he hits the wall he get more cheers than the winner of the race. Been there and seen it...

I've seen him say he 'loves to race because it IS fun', not that he only 'does it for fun'. He's also said he feels lucky to get to do something he loves. I don't get that impression at all, and Jr has not shown any real emotion in his interviews since he was fined for saying a 4 letter word during an interview, one in which he was celebrating, not badmouthing the sport or another driver. It's not that he doesn't care. Oh sure, there's been a few times he's been knocked off the track by someone else's carelessness when I've wanted to see him 'go off' on the person too but he doesn't. It's called class. Everybody has their favorite driver(s) and if he's not yours....there's other forums is all I'm saying. Every thread that gets started on here always ends up the same regardless of the topic....it always ends up being the haters against the fans. what a shame.

I'll get excited about a third place finish if I want too. Hell, I will get excited about him finishing 30th if it pleased me to do so. I don't think Junior was saying he wasn't getting what Jimmie and Jeff. He is starting to get his stuff more like their stuff is what I got out of it. I know when Lance got over there, they said he was shocked at some of the things Tony Jr had goin on there.

So to say he is racing for the money is totally off base!!! I have heard him say that driving is "fun" also, but I have never heard him say that is the only reason he races!!!

I agree, I don't think Jr was saying he had bad equipment. Didn't Jimmie or Jeff even say recently that they decided to use the other's setups? So it wasn't just Jr making comments.

I'm not sure about JJ, JG not to answer you short... but I do know Jr. said he, Lance are now leaning more towards the setups that the 48, 24,5 are using.. but even those three use somewhat of a different setup.. As each driver has a different driving style. The naysayers never pay attention to what is being said ..they just hear one word, and are ready to bash, trash. He's our driver , and as long as we are happy w/him..why the hell do they even care??? lol Too funny it is! Take care, have a great day gal:-)
