Full story: The South Mississippi Sun Herald

The power of this ad campaign still amazes me Dale Jarrett finally gets to race the truck. Eight years after UPS launched its popular advertising campaign with Jarrett pleading to drive a UPS truck in a race, UPS offered a sneak peak to media on Friday of ... via The South Mississippi Sun Herald

Sounds like it will be funny. I always thought they should do a commercial with Dale in the truck, during a pit stop. They could split the screen and show multiple other drivers coming in and leaving the pits, while he sits there as the crew tries to jack the truck up. A timer running up to 10 minutes, or so, while everyone else peels out in 13-14 seconds would be funny too!

I thought the commercial was great. I just wished today was still 1996 and we had 12 more years of DJ. A great Champion. He should be a great addition to the ESPN booth.

Every time I see that ad it makes me say "Aww!" And I have to agree with you when you say that DJ is a great addition to the ESPN booth. I was way more impressed with DJ than I was with Rusty with his broadcasting skills.

David is a 'class act' as well as Jarrett is/was. He can't replace Jarrett as in the fact that we're all individuals and unique. Just the same, he is a class act and avoids controversy and bad press. UPS should be proud to stay with David.

Aaron's did some pretty cute ads with David/wife/child. They were cute. I'd like to see UPS come up with an ad with both DR and DJ in it. That would be a screamer.

This is a little off topic but this is the history of the UPS Dale Jarrett ad.

2001-Joins UPS and several people try to convince him to race the truck.
2002-Celebrities Wayne Newton, Charlie Danniels, Miss Piggy and Kermit,Joe Walsh, and George Thorogood all convince him to race the truck.
2003-F1 Drive Jackie Stewart convinces him by doing several things like a Hollywood Movie, an In-Car Commentarie Crew (which was the NASCAR on Fox Boys),a renactment of a crash in 2002 with Mark Martin had he used the UPS truck, and several other hillarious ads.
2004-Dale gets interview by a Big Brown Truck Driver, does Yoga, and flashes back to all of the crashes he has
2005-Dale Finally says YES!!!!!!!
2006-Dale tests the truck
2007-Dale looks for a pit crew
2008-Dale Jarret wins in finally wins in the UPS truck.

Wasn't there one he did with ES where he let him drive the truck and ES did a burn out and DJ told him, "Get out of my truck."
Think there was another one with hid Dad. In any event they were all good.

Yes I do remember the ad where Ned Jarrett askes him for pie. That was probally one of my all time favorite. And I also do remember the ad where Elliott Sadler does burnouts in the truck. Elliott also appears in the 2008 ad. I also forgot to add to the 2004 section the ad where some guy is talking about the parts of NASCARS when Dale tells him to put them away.

There was a commercial like that...don't remember if it was last year or the year before but it was pretty funny when they went to change his tires!

I love all of his commercials and am really going to miss them. I'm glad they pulled out the truck at the Allstar race...watching him wiping his eyes made me wipe mine too

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Sagittarius

Be careful about what you eat and drink today, my prancing Archer. Your body is in a sensitive state, so be well advised and steer clear of anything that might upset you, or to which you're sometimes allergic. Avoid anyone who's a one-man germ factory, in case a few bugs happen to jump out and over to you. Right now, you could do without it.
