He was using the old engine and it was the cylinder.

The good thing is that qualifying doesn't mean anything here (although I'm worried about the people he's going to start near! haha). It's a good thing that they found the problem now rather than in the race! I'm sure he'll be fine.

The best way to get information is from the tweets from his race teams

Less than 30 laps in and we are single file....I am sure glad football is on because someone needs to ask NASCAR why anyone would want to watch the parade lap 500. Now they aren't allowed to run nose-to-tail in the corners. Why don't we just have unrestricted time trails? That would be more exciting than this restricted single file joke.

Not sure Kasey was helping AJ, but they got together. He lost the draft early because he had no one to push him...and as we know, he can't go on restarts. So, with nobody behind him to push him, he was screwed.

I think he would've won had it gone green. I believe Joey was committed to him. He had a deal with Jeff that he & Joey would push Kasey if he decided to make a move on the last lap, but as we saw Jeff ran out of gas before they even restarted. I'm pretty sure Joey would've done it still. But, second is nothing to be upset about! I'm quite happy with it...and it's nice to see a fresh face in VL with Jamie.

KFF, did he say much on the scanner yesterday. I can't believe they did not even interview the second place driver.

Yeah, people asked his PR about it on her Twitter page and ESPN/ABC told her that they were "short on time" and that their reporters were by the care center and in VL. So Kasey just went straight to the media center.

As for the scanner, we've established that he HATES the R5 engine, haha. Kole told him that the 78 was blowing up, to which Kasey replies "must be nice". He also called AJ an inappropriate name when AJ was having problems...pretty sure they don't get along! He also asked Kole to make sure he told him which lines were the longest, and which lines moved the fastest/best so he could figure out where to go.

I took down a few of his quotes:

Kole: "Whole field single file."
Kasey: "That's crazy how that works."
Kole: "Yeah, 10-4!"
Kasey: "I guess cuz it's cool outside."

Kasey: "God, this is boring. I'm trying to learn something out here...don't know what, but I am."

When Newman wrecked, Kasey asked if he was okay. At first I don't think anyone knew, so they just told him they think so. After he got out, Kenny reassured Kasey that he was fine and that he had to be cut out. Kasey then made some comments about how high Ryan sits in his car...but I didn't get the quote directly.

Kale was there this weekend on the pit box, and so after the race Kenny commented: "I guess Kale gets to come back to some more races!" and Kasey's like "Yeah." It was cute!

After the race, they were all talking about how crazy it was and whatnot, and his engineer Keith said "I think I'm gonna go throw up!" Haha.

But anyway, he was upbeat overall yesterday. They did good!

I was there yesterday & missed the scanner something fierce. It was good to see Kasey lead for a lap even if he didn't hold it for long. Sometimes I question Sadler when it comes to the drafting help. I know we have had this discussion on here before but I still get angry cause Kasey never seems to get any help at Dega or Daytona. On the AJ issue, I know that Kasey & Reed are pretty good friends so that might have a little something to do with it plus the fact that AJ did or does complain (and did to the media) about Kasey getting the better equipment. I always like AJ but I think we are starting to see a different side of him. I know all drivers want the best equipment they can get but Kasey was there first & is in the chase so he should be the one RPM looks out for right now.

What Kasey said when A.J. got a flat LR tire:

"Looked like something happened to the dumbf*ck on the backstretch."

LMAO

When i was watching the race, the commentators were saying that one of them had debris on their grill, i dont remember which, thats where i heard that from. They just didnt have a clear view of whathappened, so no ones sure.

AJ did. That's why he had to pit (and therefore was lapped). The debris didn't have anything to do with the contact though, because AJ had already pitted.
