btw, the pc-'NOT' police is here at the dispatch. they took off my harmless, politically CORRECT jokes. if it weren't so sad, what's happening here in the u.s. would be laughable. i know damned well that people are laughing at Americans for their loss of a once great free society to a communist pink mafia disguised as p.c.

The most stupid part of it is that Montoya isn't even from Mexico! He's from Colombia! They don't eat "tacos" in Colombia. That stupid comment is like saying someone from Ohio is out drinking tea...just because they drink tea in England! Colombia and Mexico both speak Spanish, but that remark just shows plain stupidity.

I liked the spots that Blackledge did about various eateries in various college towns. Perhaps he could offer up a suggestion as to where Greise could eat his s.h.i.t sandwich on his bye week. Order plenty of beer Bob, its on ESPN.

It's a good thing Griese isn't Italian. He needs to join his buddy Paul McGuire on the United Football League network.

Does anyone personally know one American that was offended by that comment? I dont think so, it is ESPN the hypocrite corporation that feels people should be offended by it. Im pretty sure no one at ESPN was even offended by the comment, that includes the guy who handed down the punishment. Thanks corporations for trying to turn the human race into mind controlled robots.

Griese make soooo many unneeded remarks, errors and miscalls in the booth. The guy must be a complete numbskull. Glad he got suspended. Griese is not talented or well spoken.

jamesgang wrote: <quoted text> Not sure what a stupid remark has to due with socialism. Are you trying to compare the education value to a democratic county to those of a socialist county. If so, you are way out of your league. United States 17th in the world in education. I am a Mexican and I did not find Grease's comments offensive. As I'm sure Italians wouldn't get offensive if one of their breteran was asked if they were out eating pizza. It amazes me that people will call someone an idiot because they want others to socially polite in the public outlets. I agree that anybody should say whatever they want and where ever they want, but their are consequences to that as well. Freedom of speech also entitles people not to say stupid remarks. Grease's comment was stupid not because it was recially insensative but because it was a poor attempt at being funny. Shame on ESPN for not noing the difference. And you trashing the American education system is "insensitive" to Americans, correct? You are not Grease. How would you know it was racially motivated? Are you assuming it was racially motivated because he is white? Would it be ok if a hispanic comedian stated it? Situations like this one are interesting because it brings to light many underscoring topics of discusion in our society in which most folks are afraid to talk about in fear they will be labeled "insensitive" by socialists who have compiled terms such as "insensitive" to promote fear.

American eating tacos

Brian wrote: This is just plain nuts, what is disparaging about acknowledging ethnic food? I have no love lost for Bob Griese, have never liked his commentary, but come on people, lighten up. I am not for perpetuating negative stereotypes about ethnicity or gender, or anything else but let's face it, we are different as individuals and should not be afraid to poke a little fun at those difference without fear of disproportionate responses. Except tacos are not traditional food in Columbia. Again, Columbians don't eat tacos - unless they are eating in a Mexican restaurant. When I heard the statement, I said, "Huh?" because it didn't make sense any more than if the question would have been, "Where's Jeff Gordon?" "He's out eating tacos." Hispanic people don't all eat the same type of foods any more than all English speakers do. Hey you speak English - you must love vegemite! It's a nonsequitor.

What a joke on the Griese's suspension! What, am I supposed to be offended if he had referred to me as someone who was out having a burger?!? I do not see a big deal here and it was not offensive at all.
People need to get over themselves and their hypocrisies on racism, etc.

The race card has been, and continues to be, overused. But then, that's the big gun in the liberal's arsenal and ESPN is infested with them.

Yes I do. I majored in History and my minor was Politcal Science. i dont profess to be an expert but, I know socialism when I see it, here it, and it slaps me in my face. How do you know I am full of hate? Or do you always make that charge when you can not intelligently discourse or debate because you are blindly led through life by lies or half truths? Good luck on journey my friend.

Puttin' your ideas out there is like making a taco. If it's good, we'll all eat it. If it's not, we're flingin' it back at ya! Freedom of speech doesn't mean we have to listen to ya. We might, but if your stupid, or obtuse, or mean, or racist, etc., etc., etc., then we won't. That simple enough for ya?
