I think he is going to drive for Red Horse Racing next year. Jeff Hammond is co owner of that team. Hearing Johnny is taking his crew chief and most of the pit crew with him. Has anyone else heard this??????

not a word,but it will show up on his fan club site if there is any truth to it and i hope there isnt..bill davis would be best off to pay him and keep him around as they are capable of fielding competitive cars...but weve all seen drivers and owners shoot themselves in the foot!...

That was a great race and what a way to decide the championship with less than a second between them. It's been another great season for the trucks.

There are reports of JB going to Red Horse on the message board on fan club site - also on Jayski. Johnny said this was his final year with Davis. He will do well no matter where he lands :)

I had the honour of meeting Johnny Benson at my home track of Delaware Speedway here in London Ontario a couple months ago—he was racing in a Supermodified. That’s something I didn’t see mentioned here—the guy still has a passion for going flat-out racing, which can’t be said for a lot of modern NASCAR drivers. He finished, as I recall, 7th or 8th in a field of 16-17, didn’t run all that great all night, but he still had an up-beat attitude that showed he was there just enjoying the moment.

What kind of racing do you watch? Surely not NASCAR, because the Truck Series is the best of all, & I'm proud my favorite driver is its champion for 2008! Everyone should be!

Where is Johnny Benson going to end up next year. He's not retiring at least I hope not.

That's what I've heard, but I've also been told he will go part time in all 3 divisions, or he might even retire (Doubt it). For the moment, nothing is official, but I will be looking for an answer!...

I've heard the same thing - from a few different sources, Snow. Should make for another interesting year in the truck series!

This is the 3rd year in a row he has won that award. This shows how good of a racer & person he is on & off the track!^_^
