Blount: Mayfield ruling means circus will go on

Then your dr's an idiot. It will show as amphetamine but not methamphetamine - huge difference and different tests for it. Mayfield's contention is that the combination of adderall and claritin D ( the kind with psuedoephedrine, a precursor in home cooked meth) tripped him positive. If they didn't know to test down the samples for derivitives because no one at the lab was told of the combo I can see it happen. So I am on Mayfield's side on the test being flawed.

That said, no one requiring adderall should be allowed on the track. It is an amphetamine and would give Mayfield an unfair advantage regardless of whether or not he is "truly" add/ADHD. It is Nascars fault for allowing it to begin with which begs the question as to why they would. Is it perhaps because other big name drivers also with a sketchy diagnosis use the same drug for similar advantage?

I repeat, no one truly requiring adderall has any business driving a racecar at 200 mph just a fence away from thousands of fans. But I also hope Jeremy exposes all the problems Nascar has with their drug policy and lives a long life on the $$$$ he deserves. for being a victim of their flawed process.
