Hickory Maintains Heritage, Future

I have been to this track so many times. It is a great track and I live 20 miles from it. This is where I met Richard Petty and all the other drivers in the early 1960's.

They still have a lot of races. Late Models and I think Hooters run there. They have racing every weekend. I don't get to go much. Can't find anybody to take me as I can't see to drive at night. Back then you never thought about getting an autograph. Jr. Johnson was the friendlest and I always thought that Richard Petty had the prettiest teeth. I sure miss those days.

Kyle was about two years old. He was a little toehead running around in the pits. The drivers were so nice they would stop and talk to all the time. My husband raced back then. They were called hobby cars. The raced before the big boys. Then they moved up to sportsmen cars. We had so much fun. He raced a lot of tracks in N.C and S.C.

Did it take you this long to figure all that out. I posted that back in Sept. To us southerners towheaded means blonde headed. sorry you couldn't figure that out.
