Full story: www.nascar.com

Bruce says: It seems strange that after all the success Penske and Newman have had together, how it fell apart this year. Even stranger how Penske is so quick to cut ties this year! Read on! In the final year of his contract with Penske Racing and unhappy with the team's performance, Ryan Newman wanted to weigh his options for the 2009 season. On Monday, the Penske organization decided to move on without him, and announced it was cutting ties with Newman effective the end of the year.

It took Penske a long time to finally understand that Newman is nobodys teammate. Everyone though it was Rusty that was the problem. When Kurt showed up it became more obvious that the problem is Newman. And I can't say that I blame Newman for leaving either. Penske doesn't seem to put the effort and dollars into winning that the top 3 teams do.

I think they are happy with just finishing around 15th every race, it they happen to win a race due to rain, then thats just icing on the cake.

I'm a big Newman fan, but I can't disagree with you guys.

Newman's wins came from rain and fuel mileage, and the fuel mileage was a neat little trick that his team came up with.

With that said, he can wheel a car, as noted by the number of poles he's got, but he's got to get that long race win mode going.

Not to mention, it seems that no one ever does well in the No. 12 car. What's up with that?

I am a big Newman fan too and I have to agree with you. He is a great driver he has accomplished a lot in his career. He does need to have better equipment and Penske isn't providing it for him or Kurt.Roger is more worried about IRL instaed of his cup teams.Kurt hasn't done good this year either everyone seems to think it is Ryan but, you can see it isn't the problem lies with Roger.

I live for the day when Kurt regretted leaving Roush, and I think we are almost there.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Taurus

The current planetary influences tend to make everyone groan a bit. Life is not perfect and may be less pleasant than usual, but what can you do? Get real for one thing! That's the way it is and once you accept this, everything becomes much easier to handle. Be solid and dutiful - qualities for which the Bull is renowned - and you'll come out the other side with your halo polished. Focus on some undeveloped potential in your life and take the first steps towards realising it.
