Dale Jr. to RCR? Not as Outlandish as You Might Think

Full story: www.topix.net

Think about it: Harvick could join Stewart Haas Racing as a third driver . Harvick leaves RCR and Junior arrives, just in time for the 10th anniversary of his late father's death at Daytona International Speedway.

Disgrace the 3?

I doubt that the 3 will be activated, he does not want the presure of trying to wear that number. The time to wear that number would have been if he had gone to RCR after he left DEI. He stated that he did not want to race that number and the lack of success he's had at Hendrick does not motivate anyone, including Jr. himself to drive that car.

As for a move to Childress...

What difference would it make. He can't get better cars than he has right now, but Kevin Harvick's departure does leave a seat to be filled, and Rick Hendrick is a nice enough man to allow him to go and start fresh.

I should be an interesting off-season!

Hold on there Hoss...

Just like there is a coach who thinks he can get the best out of a seemingly washed up quarterback, there is a car owner who thinks that he can get the most out of a driver.

Why do you think some guys always get rides year after year?

Richard Childress is like family to Dale Jr. Dale Jr. brings a lot of marketing support for RCR, who frankly would not mind having Jr. in the fold considering his ability to draw sponsor money.

NASCAR is just as much a BUSINESS as it is a sport.

Yes, Childress would take Jr. In a heartbeat, for good reason.

Like it or not, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be in this sport for as long as he wants to. He has talent, that is not the problem. The problem is that he is just as much a celebrity as he is a racer, and not as FOCUSED as he was when he was DRIVER FIRST.

When you make more commercials than laps, its a problem. Teresa Earnhardt made a controversial statement three years ago that PO'd a lot of Jr. fans. the Quote went something like:

"He needs to make up his mind if he is going to be a celebrity or a driver."

Say what you want about that statement, like it or hate it, but it was basically true. Dale Jr. is NOT as focused as Jimmie Johnson, or Mark Martin etc., and this is the very reason why no matter who he drives for, he will struggle until he is as focused.

The difference in Sprint Cup between good and best is not talent. Its dedication. He needs to take a look in the mirror and make up his mind what is most important... Being Dale Earnhardt Jr the racer, or being Dale Jr. the celebrity.

I hope he chooses to be a driver and gets focused while he's still young enough to rise to his potential.

He'll never go to RCR...he's already burned that bridge. Can you say "Earnhardt-Childress Racing Engines"? Affiliated once again with Teresa? I don't think so...

That could work good. Harvick wants out and next season could be Burton's last. Mattel will likely sponsor him.

It would be hilarious to see jew-nyar in the 3. That would be poetic justice. Dale gained many positions and won many races by wrecking his competitors. Jew-nyar could bring the status of the 3 down several notches when he is the one wrecking and wadding up cars. Dale shined at Daytona and juhnyer could cause another wreck there and take out half the field again. If Dale was still alive, he would have fired juhnyer a long time ago for being such a crybaby. Boo hoo my crew cheif is not a dictator. Booo hooo all my teamates are 1,2,3 in points and I'm back here in 22nd and need another pacifier.

My guess is Jr. moves to stewart haas racing. Tampax will be the sponsor.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
