If Sabah MPs and Sarawak MPs all jump now to Barisan Rakyat.

Barisan Rakyat will have enough seats to form Malaysian Government.

Maybe DAP, PKR and PAS can offer Sabah & Sarawak better deal.

1. Either Sabahan or Sarawakian become Deputy Prime Minister

2. Either Sabahan or Sarawakian become full ministership senior post like Education, Health or Telecommunication.

What do you guys think?

Worse case BN have to offer something similar or else why stay in BN?

Well, they have to be screened throughly first by the 3 parties as not to accept corrupt MPs which will affect the performance in next election.
The latest Cabinet post only lists a few Sabah/Sarawak ministers.

Dah lah tu muka rasuah jer...tengok rumah kereta..semuanya mewah2 jer...Diaorang ni cuma ikut telunjuk BN jer(kerajaan pusat)tapi tak tau nak menaik taraf kehidupan rakyat sarawak dan sabah.Diorang cuma tau jaga periuk nasi diaorang jer...takut kalau bersuara nanti kena buang atau dilucut jawatan jadi YB.Bodoh..macam ni ka nak jadi wakil rakyat.
Taraf gaji seperti 15 tahun yg dulu.Kerajaan kata takut investor(pelabur)lari tapi kita tengok singapore...negara maju..barang mahal..tapi gaji pun tinggi juga..dan pelabur datang melabur..tak lari pun.Harap2 kita boleh tukar kerajaan kita sekarang ni..saya pun dah menyampah.Kita tengok kerajaan US pun tukar kerajaan..kadang2 demokrat kadang2 republikan yang pegang.Yang mana ok kita ambik..try dulu..kalau tak ok kita tukar BN balik..selepas lima tahun kalau tak ok kita ambik PKR balik...mesti negeri kita ada improvement.Tapi kita tengok kerajaan BN sekarang ni..kalau kawasan tu pembangkang yg pegang..diaorang tak tolong..tak bagi subsidi(duit)untuk pembangunan.Yang ni saya tak setuju..kalau kerajaan US ke..British ke..siapa yang pegang diorang tolong bagi pembangunan.nampak sangat diaorang ni gila kuasa.(diorang tak tolonglah sebab diorang ingat nanti bila masa mengundi orang kawasan tu akan pilih BN balik)...macam ni ka kerajaan....ok lah..penatlah menulis ni....

Politic going from bad to worst

DAYAK not enjoying the real fruit of self rule
45 years after forming Malaysia, the most basic Dayak rights to land has not been properly addressed. We have MALAY ADUN members detecting “meaning and value” of NCR land to Dayak. MALAY ADUN issued statement that says that Government should not issue land title to Dayak - because Dayak do not develop the land or that the Dayak land is too big.

MALAY ADUNS changing the meaning of NCR land
But when the Chief Minister issue provisional lease that encroach into NCR land to Malay ADUN members, it is OK. A certain Minister from Lawas - says all sort of “wrong” thing - that all land not given title are state land etc and almost all DAYAK ADUN do not seemed to have anything to say on that. Why is it so - does that mean the DAYAK ADUN really are “fools without brain” which I believed not or are these Dayak ADUN member main concerned is their personal well being.

Why so “racial” in nature
That is an easy question to answer. UMNO / BN and TV3 is very racialist in their approach. They talk about racial integration but when you listen to and observed their behaviours in PERAK political case the racial overtone is too much.
UMNO even pull the Sultan into the mess and then turning the issue to Opposition saying that they do not respect the Sultan. Who change the rule to ensure that Sultan could be brought to court - UMNO. Who persuade the Sultan to approve a government anchoring on 3 friendly corrupted independent.

Till today the Jelapang ADUN is not welcome in her village. That is the most lowly treatment that her friends and relatives can give her.
Thus - we Dayak should defend our race from being contaminated by the Malay / Chinese Agenda of the BN. We have friends who are also Malay / Chinese who share our plights and suffering in the Opposition. We work together with them and bring down this racialist Federal government down.

We all need to be just Malaysian
If we treat all justly - as Malaysian we would not have this problem. We can do business together. Section 153 of the Federal Constitution bring many positive and negative impact. True business bumiputera business man deserved the help. Politician who turn business man is the problem - Ali Baba, corruption, power abused etc come into play.

Politic becomes “personal interest” rather than for the best of the Malaysian people. Privatization exercises produces many millionaires and started an elite class of businessman cum politician. In BN, that is the category where most politician could be listed under - politician cum business. How do you expect the politician not to abuse power.

PRU12
The people has spoken - followed by Permatang Pauh, K Trengganu and coming upt wo more by-election, possibly 3. If the BN led by Najib cannot win any of the two new by election, i think that is news enough that he cannot be the Prime Minister.
BN has not made a substantial change and actually move from bad to worst in the way they conduct their politic. Giving away money to buy voters support is really not the best thing. BN should really lead from good ideas and program. Making up is not what we look for.

Conclusion
Dayak must be active in the political process. Unity is not the only thing. What we do for a common purpose and for the well being of all Malaysian is all that matter.
Do not vote BN - rest them. Give PR a chance.

By-election in Lubok Antu

Condolence
ADUN for Lubok Antu, Dublin Unting passed away at 1am this morning. He was a Vice President of PRS - aligned to Masing.
By-election
Within 60 days from now, the Election Commission must held a by-election to fill in the vacant seat. It seems that the by-election fever is coming to sarawak and an important one at that.

Why is it Important?
PKR must win this election to give Sarawak voters the confidence to make the change in the coming State election. BN must win this seat to proof that BN is still strong and that PKR is just “noise” and BN is the king in Sarawak.
Secondly - this is Nicholas Bawin territory. Bawin is a VP of PKR and an important Dayak politician player in PKR. Should Bawin stand - this may be his first win and many more election to come or will spell his demise as a Dayak leader. If he cannot win still, then it is time he have to forget politic and do something that he is 2nd best at.

What to expect?
I would expect BN to “rain” money, Minor Rural Project, buying vote, cheat on the ballot, use threat through relevant Government Department. BN will use any mean and at all cost to win this by-election.
For PKR we will see their first ever response assistance from West Malaysia politician - if they are allow entry into Sarawak. You just have to keep guessing whether they can enter sarawak because that is TAIB’s way of saying “I am the boss”. He cannot be bothered with public opinion because he associate himself with GOD -“untouchable” even by UMNO due to his substantial contribution to UMNO.
I would expect a large number of budding politician and curious student of politic to come down to Lubok Antu to experience the campaign for “politic in the new dawn” of Sarawak. However they ould be many “crocodiles” from both side looking at the by-election as an opportunity to “curi” some pocket money for themselves.
There are many crocodile n politic even to the lowest level of politic. These people use the name of “political support” to ask money from party official - to buy petrol, money for food and endless “claim for expenses”. Party officials could be easily distracted by these crocodiles - in real life these are simple con-man.

Candidate
I see that PKR would have no problem with candidate as Bawin is there. Unless Bawin skip this by-election and focus on Parliament. Jawa Gerang is another good candidate - or i think it is better to keep Jawa Gerang for Engkilili DUN to knock off incumbant ADUN - who is a frog.
PRS - wow, no idea at all. That should not be a problem because BN is well oragnize and they have deep pocket to push even “pala babi bot” as candidate. It will be a test of “political principles versus BN money’. In Pertamang Pauh and Kuala Trengganu - money failed to change voters mind. Well that is that but in Sarawak BN has not fail yet. RM$100 is a big influence on who to vote.

Conclusion
I look forward to this by-election as a “pilot test” for PKR issues and strategy. Much can be learned from all aspect of the election and that will bring more knowledge for PKR to prepare for the coming State election.
Should Bawin win I do have high expectation from him to deliver on NCR issues, especially to highlight the wrong and the weakness in the BN land development mehanism.
Dayakbaru should congregate at Lubok Antu and help the Dayak cause through PKR. Just be ready to spend your time and own money for the sake of our community future.
Good Luck PKR
Good luck.

Batang Ai - 9 month without ADUN service
9 months wait for Batang Ai?

What is nine month wait without ADUN service? At least we know that the ADUN is sick and now has died due to his illness. May we pray and blessed his soul and peace and comfort for his family.
There are many areas in Sarawak that has not been visited and service by their ADUN because they are busy playing golf and seeking business opportunities to earn their commission.

45 years wait
Like many areas of Sarawak, Batang Ai waited 45 years for progress to come - did it comes? Yes, the Batang Ai dam but still many long houses are without electricity and clean water.
Yes, Batang Ai has a resort managed by Hilton - the Batang Ai Hilton. Local benefited very little from employment as it is a small setup. What about local providing services for incoming tourist - very little too as they are not assisted and have no capital to invest in providing quality services for tourist. The hotel have to take the larger part of the responsibility to provide the conveniences of visitors.

Any other development?
The road are bad in most areas except those that are plied by tourist.
Salcra fail to help Dayak
The socio-economic standing of Dayak Iban in the area is weak. SALCRA is not successful as a platform to eradicate poverty. However, SALCRA is very efficient in performing “political services” to BN.

Agriculture is still lagging in productivity
What other agricultural development - to improve the cash stream income and food of people of Batang Ai? The Ministry of Rural Development and Agriculture has nothing much to shout about. Inland fresh water fisheries from the dam is very limited and has not even reach the capability of supplying regular fish to local market.
The rubber small holding is “old” as no new replanting of new trees were carried out.

Poverty Eradication - failed badly
The fact is, the government approach to poverty eradication is to provide employment to local Dayak Iban at a daily wages of RM$8-12.00 per day. does that earning help them to achieve the Poverty Line Index of RM $800.00.

Police Complex
a RM$52 million police complex in Lubok Antu. How will that benefit the people? The police complex is to support the government decision to make Lubok Antu te main gateway into and out of Malaysia from Kalimantan Indonesia. The contractor may make some money but nothing is for the local people.

Why the voters for BN?
This is not unique to Batang Ai alone. The BN government keep the people poor for ease of control. The people cannot think of their tomorrow and instead focus on getting three square meals a day.

Low Spending Power
The town of Lubok Antu is perpetually sleepy as the spending power of Lubok Antu people are very low. The services they got from the business are therefor next to nothing as business could barely survive.

BN Tactics
Come election, BN will bring the MINOR RURAL PROJECT allocation of zinc roofing sheet, some plywood, fire extinguishers etc and for these crumbs the Dayak voted for BN. To sweeten the offer BN usually give money to voters with anything that range from $10.00 -$50.00. It is pathetic but true.

BN reward local leaders by appointing them as community leaders
The Federal Government help to pay Tuai Rumah (Ketua Kampong)$450-500.00 per month. This princely sum allow the BN party members to dictate term to the Tuai Rumah and even punish them if they do not tow the BN line. The Tuai Rumah responsibility is also being politicize by BN by controlling the registration and eligibility of a Tuai Rumah from receiving the monthly allowance.

Penghulu / Councilors Post as Reward
A bigger carrot is dangled for other leaders - to be appointed a Penghulu for the community which is under the purview of the Rural Ministry under the Chief Minister office. To be appointed a Penghulu is a big prize for the local leaders. It makes them look important but is not as effective as before. Why - these are political appointees with contract subjected to renewal annually. If you do not follow BN line, they will terminate your service.

Politician Penghulu
In the Dayak organization, A Penghulu is a man who is responsible to look after the community interest, Dayak adat, culture and representing their interest in interaction with those outside the community. All these has change and the Penghulu is most of the time a “politician” of BN.

Conclusion
Since it is going to be by election time those of you readers who are skeptical of the bad road in batang Ai / Lubok Antu please feel free and take a drive around the area. Batang Ai waited 45 years for something materialize through electing BN government. they got negligible return for the trust and believes in BN.

Now is time enough to make the change. Nine months without ADUN service, Batang Ai did not even made a whisper of the issue. The Taib BN control is almost TOTAL. The control is not for the better but for worst.

Batang Ai- stand up and be counted as the modern day fighter for justice, against tyranny, bring down power abuse, curtail the corruption and enrichment of elites using Sarawak natural resources.

Sarawak a country that is so rich and is now the fourth least develop State in Malaysia. WHY?

Sarawak BN leadership is rotten to the bone.

While the political operatives are set to lock horns in the battle for support in the two "Bukit" by-elections -- Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau in April -- another battleground opens across the South China sea.

The battlefield is the Batang Ai state constituency in Sarawak, which is also the heartland of the Dayaks who make up almost 95% of the total voters.
This constituency, bordering Indonesia's Kalimantan region, has been on a political alert somewhat since early last year when the incumbent assemblyman Datuk Dublin Unting Ingkot suffered a stroke and later was in coma.
His death Tuesday (24 Feb) now put the political machinery into gear and will pick up steam once the Election Commission sets the date for the by-election, the first in Sarawak since the state election in May 2006.

While the dust has hardly settled following a change of government in Perak from the opposition pact to the Barisan Nasional three weeks ago, the Batang Ai by-election will definitely generate immense interest of its own.
Going by convention, the voters Sarawak are very much into themselves and quite "insulated" from mainstream national politics, and the Batang Ai by-election this time around could also be seen as an early preview of the state election which is not due until 2011.

In the March 2008 general election, the Barisan Nasional (BN) won 30 of 31 parliamentary seats in Sarawak. The sole seat the BN failed to capture, Bandar Kuching, went to the DAP.
This is despite the setback the BN suffered in the predominatly urban seats in the 2006 state polls when the DAP scored its biggest victory ever in the state, bagging six seats.
DAP's partner, Parti Keadilan Rakyat won its first ever seat, taking the Padungan constituency and another seat, Ngemah, was won by Independent candidate Gabriel Adit.

Gabriel Adit has since joined PKR and made a party vice-president in a move aimed at boosting the party's presence and influence ahead of the state election.
Analysts said the Dayak support for the BN has lately come under question due to sentiment on touchy issues related to the Native Customary Rights (NCR) land and several other land issues.
Former State PKR Chairman Dominic Ng said the opposition had "very promising" chances in the coming Batang Ai by-election following the PKR top leadership's decision to assign Datuk Seri
Anwar Ibrahim to head the state PKR liaison committee.

"Anwar has managed to unite the various non-BN Dayak political groups in the state," Ng claimed.
He pointed out that in the 2006 state election, Unting won with only a 806-vote majority.
Ng, who is also the state assemblyman for Padungan, said the decision by two former members of parliament Jawah Gerang (Lubuk Antu) and Jimmy Donald (Simanggang) to join PKR last year had also strengthened the PKR front in the area.
Batang Ai is one of the two state seats under Lubuk Antu parliamentary constituency. The other seat is Engkilili.

Is this not another evidence of cruelty?

The latest destruction of a number of houses by the Land and Survey Department at Mile 15, Mukah-Selangau Road has been described as yet another evidence of cruelty on the part of the state BN government.

Mensekar Banyau, aged 70, has lodged a report with the Police at Selangau Police Station two days ago accusing the enforcement officers from the Land and Survey department of being “zalim”(cruel) against the occupants of three houses when they came and destroyed the houses and their properties.

“We tried to stop them from destroying our houses and properties, but we were helpless. Their actions made us very angry and we lost about RM60,000 worth of properties," he said to a reporter from Utusan Borneo.

“They should have notified us,” he said and added that they were now staying with their relatives in other longhouses.

According to him, the enforcement officers on 16 October last year destroyed a number of houses in the area.

“Before the case is settled, the enforcement officers on Thursday, 26 February 2009 at 10.30 a.m. destroyed three more houses. At that time only me and my wife were at home; the rest had gone to work. We tried to salvage our properties, but could not do it as they used a bulldozer to destroy the houses,” he said.

Mensekar claimed that they had not been notified by the Land and Survey Department nor informed that their houses were to be demolished.

He admitted, however, that he had partially dismantled his house when they told him that a public road passed through the part of the house. And he was also told by the staff of the department that the other half of the house could still be occupied as it did not obstruct the proposed road.

That was why, he said, that they did not move out.

“They clearly cheated us,” said another villager, Nyunkin Renjau and listed their possessions being destroyed included paddy, fertilizers, motorcycles, antiques, bedding, clothing and cash.

The victims are known to be strong supporters of the MP for Selangau and Deputy Minister Joseph Entulu Belaun who is deputy president of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).

Why couldn’t Joseph Belaun help them? Or for that matter Joseph Mauh, State Assemblyman for Tamin? After all this is what our elected representatives are supposed to do – help their supporters.

Anyway the latest incident which is one of the many cases where Dayak longhouses have been destroyed should open the eyes of the voters of Batang Ai who will soon witness a by-election. They are given a choice: vote for BN and condone the destruction of longhouses or vote for PKR for your rights, fairness and justice.– The Broken Shield

Have we (The Dayaks) Sarawak & Kadazan-Dusun Sabah been fooled all this while?

Kelantan Menteri Besar, Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat is one kind of a leader who dares to say a “spade is a spade” when he labels the term “Bumiputra” as a smack of racism. But to us Dayaks, bumiputra is an illusory word, the application (or non-application) of which has made us Dayaks as the losers in terms of development, business opportunities, contracts and tenders, educational opportunities, recruitment into and promotion in the civil service.

In the political terminology, Dayaks together with Malays, Kadazandusuns and other natives are grouped as Bumiputras. What it means here is that when UMNO needs our support to strengthen its policy on “ketuanan Melayu” the Dayaks are considered as Bumiputras so that bigger “Merdeka cakes”(a.k.a. economic opportunities, rights and privileges) should be accorded to reflect the larger composition of Bumiputras (Malays, Dayaks, Kadazandusun, etc) and as Bumiputras our rights are said to be included in the term.

But in actual implementation of the “Bumiputra policy” the Dayaks have been sidelined or not considered at all for all those privileges, rights and economic opportunities; in fact the Dayaks are officially known as “lain-lain”(others). And as “lain-lain” what do we get? Even Article 153 of the Federal Constitution cannot protect us. In fact, illegal immigrants have better treatment than us.

I recall a friend of mine who is now a member of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Supreme council complained that his application for a business was rejected because he was not a bumiputra. Imagine a Dayak Iban’s application for business opportunities is not considered on ground that he is not a Bumiputra. His case is a tip of the iceberg.

The term of “Bumiputra” and “non-Bumiputra” first came into use when the government introduced New Economic Policy (NEP) following the 13 May 1969 racial riots in West Malaysia. That is about 30 years ago.

Following a special meeting with the then Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad with Dayak leaders like Tan Sri Leo Moggie from the defunct Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) and Dayak non-governmental organisations as well as Kadazandusun leaders like Tan Sri Bernard Dompok of UPKO, Sabah some time in 2000, it was agreed by the Federal government to give a special attention to Sarawak and Sabah people in terms of financial allocation and business opportunities.

And arising from that meeting it was decided to form the Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to look after the interests of the Dayak and Kadazandusun communities. Since then a new terminology, Bumiputra minorities, has been coined to refer to the Dayaks and Kadazandusuns. Legally, of course, there are no such words.

The current debate on the privileges of “Bumiputra” was brought up by an Opposition leader, Dr. Boo Cheng Hau in Johor State Assembly last week when he likened “bumiputralism” as another form of apartheid policy which was experienced by the black Africans.

Nik Aziz labeled it (bumiputralism) as racism and wanted it drop, while the Information Minister, Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the Opposition did not understand the meaning and the history of the word.

It is obvious that we have been lulled into belief that as Bumiputras we enjoy all the rights. What a fool we have been for the last 30 years for continuing to elect BN government? This issue should be one of the issues to be highlighted at the forthcoming Batang Ai by-election.– The Broken Shield

Battle Royale For Batang Ai- Part 2

Despite earlier assurance by the EC chairman that the Batang Ai by-election will not be of the same date as the ones for the two Bukits in West Malaysia, it is now confirmed that all the three by-elections will be held simultaneously after all; nomination is on the 29th of March (Sunday) and polling will be on the 7th April (Tuesday), allowing 8 days of campaigning.

Advantage one for BN/PRS Sarawak.

PKR leaders will be spread out in the two Bukits and across the South China Sea and deep into the Dayak Iban hinterland of Batang Ai. The travels alone will be energy sapping, not to mention the logistics of it all.

Upon reaching Kuching International Airport, they will have to travel by road to Lubok Antu and there from to the various longhouses crises-crossing Batang Ai, and, depending on the roster, they will have to cross "another sea" of the vast Batang Ai dam into the Delok and Engkari, or the Lamanak in the eastern part of this rural State constituency.

There will be very limited accommodation and food outlets, unless they want to stay at the expensive and yet very inconvenient Hilton Batang Ai, as it is located at the other side of the lake. Halal food? Almost none anywhere in Lubok Antu!

For BN/PRS these will be of no problems. For accommodations, the troops can stay at the SESCO Township bungalows, the government quarters and the Klingkang Inn in Lubok Antu Town. There will be of course the brand new Euro copter choppers to ferry VVIPs/ campaigners all over the more remote areas of the constituency.

Then there is the bottomless pit of the BN finance and logistics, not to mention the endless contributions from individuals/towkays/lobbyists, you name it.

Plus, the enormous advantage of having the bigwigs of the State Civil Service and all government departments and agencies and State Government linked companies to assist and beef up the BN Election machinery.

The odds will be heavily stacked against the PKR. The logistics, operations and the administration of the campaign will be nightmarish, to say the least. PKR can never match the Sarawak BN in these areas. It is always very difficult to unseat a seat that has been held by the incumbent State Government for many terms, more so in a by-election as it is.

With all the campaign war crimes, promises of better lives and living, the issues, all and sundry, it is up to the voters of Batang Ai to decide.

Dato’ Seri Mohd. Effendi Norwawi - Second Term Senator

What is the plan?

Will Dato’ Seri Mohd Effendi Norwawi be made an interim Chief Minister of Sarawak soon, to provide the space for Taib’s son Suleiman to mature and learn to speak better? In Parliament, Suleiman does not seem to know how to speak and answer additional question competently.
Well whatever the case maybe, the hand of Taib can manipulate KL easily. PBB is a key “bumiputera” ally to UMNO. Taib ensure that Sarawak provide the support for UMNO to stay in power at Federal level.

What does it means to Dayak
Dayak should not ever hope that BN Federal would be helpful to Dayak. Taib will have his way with Dayak and KL would not say a thing.
Dayak BN is left with nothing literally, just some handout from Taib and then forbidden to say or do anything for Dayak.
That will leave Dayak through their NGOs and community structure to look and defend themselves from Taib’s land development concept onslaught. Dayak cannot expect any help from Dayak YB.

Batang Ai By-Election
BN will want to ensure victory for their candidate - just to keep the BN YB numbers intact and prevent PKR from making any inroad into Sarawak. If PKR win then Taib fort is not invincible after all and that will lessen his power in KL.
By electing BN candidate we will know the elected person will not be able to deliver anything for the betterment of Dayak. We would have another Nyalau who do not seem to know head from tail.

Dayakbaru
Do we know what to do in this instance! We have BN wanting to continue to impose their will on Dayak. We have Taib trying to extend the duration of his dynasty. What should we do?
DAYAK, we must take action at a personal level. Take action to contact your relatives and friends in Batang Ai and explain to them the reason why they should keep all the money and goodies that BN give BUT still vote for the future of Dayak.

ONE DAYAK, ONE PEOPLE, ONE FATE
Dayakbaru - whatever you don’t do for Dayak to make the change it will affect us as ONE people. Whatever affects us as ONE people will be our fate.
What is our fate you may ask? We will continue to be discriminate and marginalize upon by Taib and UMNO. We will lose our land. We still are kept backward in economic and social aspect. Our progress in education will be check. Our native rights as indigenous people would be trampled upon.

Now is the time for Dayak to take action
Dayakbaru - do not think for a second that you are not Batang Ai voter that you have no role to play. You have - every one of us has.
1. You can talk to your relatives and friends in Batang Ai and tell them as ONE DAYAK, ONE PEOPLE we suffer ONE fate. We do not want to be discriminated upon in own land.
2. Donate some money to Batang Ai election fund. That will help to cover certain critical services in the campaign activities and that may determine whether we lost as ONE Dayak, ONE People and our one fate!
3. Go to the ground and help during campaigning period to get some votes for our needs. Our need is to improve the respect that the government would give to our rights. Our right to our culture, our language, our land, our education, the rights to determine our future and the right to exist as equal with other races in Malaysia.

YOU Dayakbaru have that duty.
Dayakbaru has the duty because Change we MUST. BN will fool Dayak in Batang Ai with monies and goodies, promises and drinking parties. They will threaten them, blackmail them, buy them and make sure that Dayak in Batang Ai are helpless to even think for themselves.
Dayakbaru must take action to resist this BN attack on us as ONE DAYAK, ONE people with ONE fate.
What Taib want to discriminate and marginalize us Dayak and to ensure that we suffer our ONE fate - we will become a junkie in our own land.

Conclusion
The tears of despair are not what we want to see. The cry of hunger and pain is not what we want to listen too from Dayak in the years to come.
Do not sell our BANGSA. Do not sell our HOPE. DO not sell our FUTURE - as we all have generations that will come after us. They must not suffer the same fate we suffer today. Do not sell ourselves for a few dollars.
DAYAK ARISE and vote for PKR.

ONE DAYAK, ONE PEOPLE, ONE FATE

Fellow Sarawakians,

We have all been discriminated and marginalized by BN government one way or another. WE must all work together to give Sarawak HARAPAN BARU.
Allow me to address just one part of our beloved Sarawak society. Since Batang Ai is an IBAN majority area, this message is for Dayak Iban voters in Batang Ai.

PKR as West Malaysia Based Party
PKR is a registered national political party in Malaysia. It does not differentiate you by race, class or religion. It is JUSTICE party for all Malaysian. PKR members are united as one in Malaysia within one political organization with justice and equality as its main political platform.

BARISAN NASIONAL
Is also a national based political grouping of many political parties? The lead party is United Malay Nasional Organization or better known as UMNO Baru.
The difference with PKR is - it has a racialist approach towards politic hiding under the guise of “national unity”.
1) UMNO for Malay only ( with exception of Sabah).
2) MCA is for Chinese
3) MIC is Indian
4) SUPP is for Sarawak Chinese Agenda
5) PBB is Sarawak Dayak and Malay/Melanau for Taib’s / Jabu agenda
6) SPDP is for all Sarawakian
7) PRS is for ( I don’t know - very confusing)
8) Gerakan / PPP / and parties from Sabah
How can we Malaysian be united as one with so many parties and with so many leaders with personal agenda.
Do you seriously think that non Malay could be the Prime Minister of Malaysia under the BN organization?
Could non Malay become Malaysian Prime Minister under PKR / PR? The answer is definitely yes.

Why are we Dayak being discriminated against?
PBB Taib works very closely with UMNO for his selfish agenda of retaining power and extracts Sarawak wealth for personal use. UMNO needed Taib to be in power to stay as Federal Government and also Sarawak MONEY to finance certain UMNO leaders. Taib used the same money to “control” Dayak through Dayak elected representatives.
Leading the Dayak betrayal is Jabu and Masing. Mawan is quiet now as he can read Dayak sentiment. SUPP - is quiet, knowing that the wind of change can blow either way and they will ride with it - as long as there is business and money, SUPP members wanted that money more than all things else. SUPP are a bunch of opportunist people. SUPP will never lift their finger to help the Dayak.
To Taib / UMNO, a strong Dayak will undermine UMNO agenda of KETUANAN MELAYU in Malaysia generally and in Sarawak, specifically. Both PBB and UMNO then work together -“Najib says Taib is my best friend” meaning they can push for KETUANAN MELAYU agenda even much more than before.

Who split the Dayak?
Dr. James Jemut Masing is the politician who split the Dayak only because he has a personal agenda in politic. Now he calls for Dayak unity - when his PRS party has no foundation and strength to make such a call?
Taib will continue to use Jabu to confuse the Dayak. Jabu is successful in confusing the Dayak to an extent. But the Dayak is rising against his brand of politics. The Dayakbaru is totally going against Jabu politic. Jabu’s politic belittle the intelligence of educated Dayak: His favourites are:
1) anang ngelaban perintah
2) mina perintah aja ulih nulong kitai
3) kitai anang bejako ke bansa diri aja laban orang enggai meda kitai
4) kitai ngatur pemansang Dayak ngena jalai ari dalam.
Some of these ideas are good. But Jabu has not delivered on his message. His behavior is totally against his political concept. Big talk but no result - thus Dayak disunity under BN.

Anang ngelaban perintah
His attack of Dayak in general and Dayak NGOs weaken Dayak support for BN. For Masing, what has he done to the Dayak?. Masing do not even have any “political concept” of his own to start with except of wanting to be a Minister in Sarawak cabinet.
Has PRS any vision for Sarawak? Never heard of one. I have listened to their leaders speaking in functions, none spoke on their vision for the future.
PRS is a party without vision.

Mina perintah aja tau nulong kitai
Any government would help the people who voted for them. In Sarawak, the BN government is not helping the people in a sincere way. In everything they BN do, there is a hidden agenda of “personal profit”,“personal interest” at the expense of the larger majority of people.
Government is elected by the people. The people now has a very viable and good alternative in Pakatan Rakyat. It is time we change to Pakatan Rakyat.

Dayak is United
Dayak is NOT united under Barisan Nasional. But NOW - Dayakbaru is UNITED under Pakatan Rakyat.

PR is not Sarawak
YESSSS - PR is not Sarawak. People in PR are from Sarawak and made up of all races in Sarawak too. PR do not divide people by State. Dividing politic through different States is a fail approach in politic. Look at Gerakan, PPP - for BN Sarawak component party that is what they fear most - being made irrelevant by the new voters who has totally different understanding of politic and a much more pragmatic approach towards unity.
WE Dayakbaru do not owe anything to BN. Their leaders took enough of Sarawak wealth for personal richest.
Our Malaysian UNITY is our Malaysian identity. Governing the country through the collaboration of “racial party” is Malaysia’s time bomb. We will hold on to narrow political values and in development BN will always discriminate.
Pakatan Rakyat give you the real deal of being united in one party and across the nation, not just one or a few State.

ONE DAYAK, ONE PEOPLE, ONE FATE

One Dayak - reject BN and Taib effort to split Dayak into Iban, Bidayuh, Kayan, Kenyah, Lun Bawang, Penan, etc. We will not have any political strength if we allow Dayak to be split in that manner.

ONE people - we are one with all Malaysian. The Dayak being the indigenous people of Sarawak must be accepted as equal by other Malaysian. We have the same rights as others as Malaysian.

One Fate - the fate of Malaysian is also our fate. If Malaysia fail, we also fail with the rest.
When we vote for PR / PKR in Batang Ai, we vote for change to uphold ONE DAYAK, ONE PEOPLE and ONE FATE with all Malaysian.

Conclusion
Our journey has started. The change that we want has happened in 5 States in West Malaysia. BN has been defeated in 2 By-election. Now there are three By-elections and we Malaysian as ONE people must response to BN poor approach of managing Malaysia (they are still thinking that they can buy anything with money) by voting the next government PAKATAN RAKYAT.
Pakatan Rakyat will not discriminate us through race, colour and religion. UMNO is the source of all this disunity, political tension in the country. UMNO is not able to lead us Malaysian out of this economic trouble because they only have ONE solution - push more money.
Out of RM$60 billion economic package, Sarawak is given RM1.2 billion for infra-structure. Is that fair to Sarawak when we contribute so much money from our oil and gas resources.
Pakatan Rakyat will give Sarawak 20% oil royalty that is much more money for Sarawak compared to what is given by BN to Sarawak today (in economic stimulus package!). If it is not an economic stimulus package we might not have received any. All stimulus are given to people who are 1000 times better than us dayak living in Batang Ai

Battle Royale For Batang Ai- Part 7- At Cross-Roads

The voters in Batang Ai will be at the cross-roads in this by-election where the folks will be wondering and pondering on several issues before marking that important "X" in the ballot paper to register their final choice as to whom among the candidates will represent them. This decisive decision will be arrived at after all the exhaustive campaigns of promises, rhetorics, fiery speeches, merry making, endless visits from all sorts of political personalities, several visible development projects carried out and most importantly the personal touch of the candidates themselves.

The voters, who are predominantly Dayak Ibans will be considering few factors before deciding on whom to vote. The political landscape this time is remarkably different.

Will they still vote for the BN again this time around? Will the voters still vote for the "devils they know or the lesser devils" they yet to know?

Is the personality of the candidate of outmost importance? Will relatives vote for relatives?
Are they enough of BN and more so the Iban leaders in BN? Are they going to give the BN Iban leaders ONE more chance to represent them? Do they have confidence in Jabu, James Masing, Mawan, Uggah, Manyin, Joseph Salang, Entulu, Jelaing and the rest to STILL represent them in the BN government? Will they want to navigate in unchattered waters and FOR CHANGE vote PKR and let Anwar and the troops lead them this time around? Can they trust a West Malaysian leader, in the person of Anwar Ibrahim to spearhead their causes?

Will the political tsunami in the West bear any effect to the simple folks of Batang Ai? Do they want to send a clear signal to Taib and his colleagues that the time is up? And, that they are fed up of promises unfufilled after all these long years, elections after elections, in and outside the BN?(Batang Ai was a PBDS stronghold when the party was in the opposition) Then there is the ever lingering issues of the unsettled land and farmland promised by the Government after the resettlement of those affected by the hydro project.

What about the intention of the educated and young voters in Batang Ai? Where will be their stance? Will they go back and vote and influence the older folks as to their choice?

The penultimate result for all of us to see will be on how the Batang Ai voters will send the signal to the power- to- be of the shape of the political landscape in the years ahead for Sarawak in particular and the nation as a whole. We will see come evening of 7th April, 2009.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
