Haven't you Prohibitionists made up enough vicious laws? Resource forfeitures, impoverishing not traffickers, but some poor soul with a couple of joints in her car? Loss of homes so crooked politicos can siphon off their graft? Eager breeches of Forth and Fifth Amendment protections? And all the graft and corruption engendered by prohibiting Americans from using fairly harmless herbs - there has never in all history been an overdose death from marijuana - isn't even discussed by most. Why? Too much money made by private prisons, too much corruption by vice officers - just try to find an honest narc!- and too many communities funding operations by resource forfeiture, money easy to siphon off by crooked officials. So when violence ensues, just as it did in alcohol prohibition, you want to use extra-legal punishment. Look at how things improved in the gang situation when FDR ended alcohol prohibition. It's time to shift weed profits back to family farmers.

You never know. It might be grown and distribued by the US Government. Since it is a drug maybe only Pharmaceutical companies will be able to manufacture and sell it. More then likely people will just grow their own if allowed. No money to be made except for light bulb companies. So just a lot of loaded people going to work and driving. I smoked it a bit when I was young. It does make you stupid and even though sometimes you think you are in control you are not. Just like with alcohol.
