723, 825 apprehensions in the fiscal year? Shouldn't that term be arrests, since the "immigrants" were illegally crossing the border? It seems to me that the underlying premise of this article is that we should not concern ourselves with illegal immigration since so many thousands are returning to Mexico and other countries due to the economic slowdown. However, to my way of thinking, considering the many millions of illegal immigrants (we don't really know how many) who live here, that is a false impression to leave with the readers. A few thousand leaving is hardly reason to stop being concerned about the flood of illegal immigration. After all, given the fact of 723,825 arrests, it has to make one wonder how many others there were who successfully crossed the border, and where they are living and working, along with how much public funding is spent to support them all in education, medical treatments at hospital emergency rooms, and various other means of social support. What cannot be doubted is that the costs to the public are $ billions upon billions in Los Angeles County alone.

Oh heavens what a sad tale. Illegals can't find work here and have to return home?

If these CRIMINALS and yes folks that is EXACTLY what they are, would spend one tenth of the time and money they spent to get here on changing things in their country of origin, things would HAVE to get a bit better, on both sides of the border!

Don't believe anything the Press Telegram tries to "report" regarding illegal aliens.
The editor's are so pro-illegal immigration, they probably get checks from La Raza.

This article from yesterday's Daily News says that in 12 years the Hispanic population will increase by 65%. They definitely aren't going anywhere.

Which is why the Press Telegram gives us the specious headline of "Migrants returning south of border." They hope to imply that illegals are heading back en masse, when only a relative few are. If we're heading towards a big recession, would you rather spend it here, or in Mexico?

Just more evidence of the Press Telegrams love of editorializing their far left slant, and calling it "news."

Point to ponder: Do you realize that if the population had gone against everything the Press Telegram has advocated through the years, we'd have more money in our city coffers right now, and a better quality of life in general?

Think of all issues they advocated through the years, sometimes on behalf of the city council, whose offending members are long gone while longtime citizen's are left to deal with the wreck they left behind.

Think about it.

You said it!

They need to go to their country and muster up what it takes to have their country opportunities change by changing their government. isn't that what Americans did. And they did it not so that immigration could be what it has turned into. its quite the fight right now for Americans to preserve what we have

That's because they haven't been trained yet. Once they're as well trained as african american's, their sense of entitlement will eliminate the exchange or for goods or services rendered mentality.
You cannot even begin to compare African Americans to Illegals. Completely different senarios. Their Ancestors were robbed of the choice to be here legally or illegally. They are Americans with African ancestory. The illegals are just that... illegal. They make the choice to be so.

each new group thats comes here faces the same treatment. we came here and outed the natives, we brought the blacks here and treated them sub human, the asians, now the mexicans are trying to come here, and we will pay reparations for the treatment of them too

Idea. The average welfare receipt that is 100% dependent on welfare has absolutely NO value as a person or to this country. It would seem to me we give these worthless people an opportunity to do the right thing. We give them 6 months worth of welfare money, and one-way ticket to any country of their choice, and they lose their citizen status, i.e., they can never come back. Image how large they could be living in Obama land in Kenya or mexiko city. It would be a win/win for all.

there is a common thread, when it comes to reperation, africans had sh*t to do with indians, but yet we still are sitting here paying for the sins of our fathers, its in how our country chooses to right a wrong

That was the British government that did that , not American. The American government once established phased out injustices and made the laws and policies for good. Impossible to do those things in one fell swoop in a new democratic society with such a large population. Yours thinking is scewed and incorrect.
