Jeff wrote: <quoted text> yeah, the people most at risk of violence? That's not cherrypicking. Violent crome has been falling overall in the ecountry as a whole since the '70s. You're suggesting that that had nothing to do with Chicago's crime rate dropping. You're attributing it all to the handgun ban. That's cherrypicking. You do know that the world was a MUCH more violent place in 1500s and guns hadn't even been invented yet, right? Are you going to attribute violence dropping since then to the handgun ban? ... Did you know that in the 1500s before you could enter into the walls of a kingdom you had to check your weapons at the gates? Outside the gates, yes it was lawless and filled with rape and murder. Inside, it was much safer because weapons were confiscated upon entry. Thanks for allowing me to share this history lesson with you.

Stacy & her boyfriend ran off from Bolingbrook to Baja. They probably got mixed up with the wrong people & got mixed up into a stew. Drew should send a picture of her to the authorities there & get the stew maker to look at it along with all the others.

Love the irony of someone from Vegas decrying where "fools" vacation. That could be the funniest thing that I have seen in weeks. Thank you for the laugh.

Legalize marijuana, control its distribution and tax the bjesus out of it. That will put a good percentage of these mainiacs out of business and provide much needed tax reciepts to use on health care programs and other underfunded needs.

Thanks for allowing me to share this history lesson with you. So what? There were also more wars over land, plagues, witchburning and religious wars. It was a MUCH more violent place. Checking your weapons at the gate (and that rarely to never happened in medieval England, it was more prevalent in France) was not responsible for rooting out corruption. Public corruption was so bad in the middle ages that people like Robin Hood became folk heros for stealing from corrupt officials like the Sheriff of Notthingham with the latest in weapons technology, the bow and arrow! Guess who the only person that had a sword or bow inside that village was? You guessed it, King John and his Sheriff.

confused wrote: <quoted text> Why do you hate the military and police? What makes you believe these good Americans would turn their weapons on the innocent and become quasi-Nazi's "just following orders"? Just thousands of years of history. Julius Caesar, King John of England, Fidel Castro, Idi Amin, England's conflict with Northern Ireland, modern Mexico and the list goes on and on. Taking away the people's right to bear arms has ALWAYS been a precursor to absolute power corrupting absolutely. American politicians become no better than tin hat dictators when we willfully give away our constitutional rights. Just look at the things Blagojevich did that he wasn't ALLOWED to do. Do you really want to give a Daley or a Blagojevich that kind of power?
