Assuming presidency is not a game of trial and error,so that someone wants to give it a go once more.Muluzi had a chance of his life time and he blew it.Malawi has had enough of his celebrity presidency and now she hungers for a saviour to lead,to restore our economy,to develop,to help realise the vision,to teach us how to fish so that we can stand on our feet.I have a quotation to share with you as Einstein put it," A problem can not be solved at the same level of thinking we were when we created it" This quotation calls for a paradigm shift in our thinking.I hope we have learnt a lot of lessons in the past and let us not return to our own vomit.Nothing personal, just being a concerned citizen.

as they say "once beaten twice shy". muluzi had his chance but he blew it. its time for Malawi to look up to what the future holds for her.
there are a lot of potential an intelligent people in malawi who can change things for the better, why not give them a chance and see what they can do for our country.
its time to look forward not backwards.

I dont see any anything wrong, after all people should vote for him why can we shut up our mouth and let the ballot paper decide the fate of Muluzi on the 2009 presidencial elections.Conern Malawian leaving abroad.

I feel ill at ease to hear that former president, Bakili Muluzu still feels the need to be president. Let us give other people chance and give democracy chance. Our friends in Tanzania should give us a lesson. A president after finishing his mandate, should rest. We may end up creating another phase of life presidents. UDF has other potential candidates, give them chance to relay with the baton that Bakili handed to Bingu. After all Bingu is doing well and we can see changes and a sense of responsibility in his government. Let us give him another five years more to rule us. Simeon Banda, Kasungu, Malawi

Bingu has carried us well so far. I do not doubt that he will rule us again. Yes, we need opposition but repeating a president who had already done ten years will be a mistake we can make. Let others rule us. Joakim Chissano, ruled ten years and now he is out, Benjamin Mkapa ruled ten years and now he is out, Nelson Mandela ruled five years only and now he out. Why should we allow Bakili repeat as if we do not have other better potential candidates to rule us. He did his best and he also did his mess. Let us give Bingu another chance, once he completes his ten years another one should take over. Let us avoid creating an ambiance of life presidents. We do not need wamuyaya now. You potential candidates feature up so that we can know your credibility. Even MCP should bring up new blood. Mr. Tembo is old now to be a politician in the front role, allow the young ones with new vision to come up and tell us how they would want us to be governed. Politics is like a relay race and once the baton has been handed on to the next one, there is no need to take up again. Malawians think before you cast your vote next year. Holding on to life presidents did not do us good for 30 years. Again let us go beyond regionalism worldview. We need transparent leaders and can come from any region. Let us make Malawi a regionless nation. Simeon Banda, Kasungu.
