Chris (is it short for Christopher or Christian?), please ease up on the bashing of the Narnia movies! Your apparent anti-Christian bias is clouding your often keen aesthetic judgment! Yes, there was probably too many battles and it was loosely-based on the novel. nevertheless on May 16, my son and I were at a midnight premiere of the Prince Caspian movie and the theater was packed with young people and adults. After the movie was over, the audience applauded with enthusiasm! As far as I can tell no one accepted Christ as their personal savior after viewing it. At least the Narnia kids have now found some favor in your eyes, Chris. I can't remember if the kids were spared your harsh criticism of the first Narnian film. Although you finally saw some character development, near the end, in the Peter character, you overlooked it in the courageous portrayal of Susan. I have not read your review of the Golden Compass, but I suspect that it received a more balanced review. If so, would it not be partly-based on the alleged anti-Christian bias of the story's creator? Yes, I also enjoyed the first Narnian movie, LWW (which you also panned) and really believed it to be a much better movie then the disappointing King Kong remake, appearing at the same time, which you praised in comparison! If such trends in your aesthetic criticism continue,, I can expect a favorable bias in your forthcoming review of the new Indiana Jones movie.

Did his single mentioning of "Christ like lion" overly offend you? I loved the CoN books (I've read them all dozens of times), but I did not like the 1st movie, and I will not be going to see this one.

The fact that the film poster features Caspian and that he is the title character didn't suggest that the Pevensies aren't the focus of the story? Any one who has read the book knows that the Pevensies are basically hold overs from the previous story. As Peter basically says in the book - they aren't there to take Caspian's place but to put him in it.

Well, I did think they showed some nice development in the kids about how they felt being back see Susan saying "I miss home and it's great to be back here, but how long will it last".
I do know many Christians wil see this film Charles. I went to the midnight showing and saw two girls from my college. Last year I asked one of them out andagreed to go to Easter service and join their prayer group a couple times. The 2nd girl was her best friend from that group.
Oh and Chris, that's Warwick Davis in the pic with Barnes, not Dinklage

This was a great movie with alot of great action. The time flew by as you waited to see how Ashland would save Narnia. It was great to see a movie and be able to enjoy the whole film.

Well, not for the first time, Chris Hewitt has ensured that I WILL see this movie. When he hates a movie I am almost guaranteed to like it, and my film tastes are better than his, I suspect. Any chance of ever getting a less cynical critic?

They took way to many creative liberties with this one. I mean, a kiss?!?! Come on, that never happened in any of the Narnia books. That aside, they fabricated tension between Peter and Caspian, put in extra battle scenes, and all-around tarnished a marvelous story by C.S. Lewis. If I were Adamson, I'd be ashamed. On behalf of everyone, Jack, we are sorry.

Well I sat through the movie thinking where are they going with this? My first hint was that it " was based on the book by CS Lewis" in the opening credits. From there it seemed as though they pieced together scenes from the book in random order. I have read the book and I had hoped they would have followed it as they had in "Lion". If you want to "hear" the story true to the book I suggest Focus on the Family Radio Theater on CD or read the book
