Ballard was a popular comedienne in the 50s and 60s, and did a lot of Broadway, TV work, sitcoms and talk shows. She is really funny, and what she said about Barbra is no lie. That is how she is and was, especially when she became a big star a little too quickly for her own good. It went to her head in the worst way. She turned her back on many of those who helped her become who she is today. Look up Ballard on the Internet--that is why google is google and Wikipedia is Wikipedia. It is too easy.

I must admit I had never heard of Kay Ballard before. No matter how famous one is, there is no excuse for rudeness. A normal person or fan wouldn't intervene when someone is eating, that said there are ways of dealing with such a situation without being rude. Barbra went down in my estimation last year when she was on holiday with Jim in Spain. There was a video of her getting into a car where a handful of women fans were standing. One young girl called out, waved, Barbra turned her back, and even when in the safety of the car, she still turned her back away from them. For me this was the height of rudeness, and a smack in the face for all her fans. This was during the promotion for LITA. I wanted to say to Barbra, hey this is a fan like me and thousands of others that over the years have bought your music, watched your films, surely you could say Hi, or just wave. I didn't like the Barbra I saw that day. Of course there are those that will argue, well she was on holiday. Bullshit, there is no holiday for people like Barbra. Barbra wasn't on a private beach, this fan wasn't tresspassing, she was there, Barbra was there, all this girl wanted was acknowledgement. Once again I have vented my frustration over this.

She was a wicked stepsister,(along with Alice Ghostley) in tghe musical, "Cinderella". On Broadway in the '50s with Julie Andrews.
