I think Jay has paid his dues to everyone. The highly published problems he has had in the past have punished him enough. Why doesn't the original group and Jay Traynor get their own music and stop haunting him. Do they want his blood next? At his age, just let him revel in his glory and pay his taxes.

Jay "David Blatt" Black is the talent and the reason Jay and the Americans are historically a great R&R act. He is the only one who could truly sing Cara Mia.

Anyone who sees this 68 year old in concert in AC or Las Vegas cannot argue that he truly is Jay and the Americans. His voice is still incredible.

After Jay spends 40 years building up Jay and the Americans with his magnificent voice now the idiot, Jay Traynor, wants to take back what he didn't want before, he couldn't make a go of Jay and the Americans, Jay Black(David) did now he wants to ride on David's shirt tail.

I have seen him 7 times. There is no other Jay as far as I am concerned. If Traynor wants the name so bad then why the hell did he leave in the first place? I will always stand behind Jay(David) 100%

Jay Trayner you piece of garbage .... what in the world gives you the idea that you either have the right to "Jay & the Americans" or the talent to maintain the legacy? You are but an addition to the growing lists of "has beens" that will stoop to any level to regain fame. By the way ..... I have collected music for 45 years and never heard of you until now. You are like Pete Best (the ex-Beatle drummer).... whi cares, go back into hiding.

Jay Black (David Blatt) was, without a doubt the most talented lead singer to come out in the 1960's. He could sing anything with his beautiful strong operatic voice. Jay joined the Americains in 1962, and Totally Made The Group! Jay's voice IS THE VOICE of Jay & The Americans. No one can impersonate him or begin to fill his singing shoes. It's amazing to me that ANYONE would think they could take his place by simply buying his name. What a fool! Why would the Judge take his name when that's how he makes a living?

I think Jay could call himself anything and his fans would be there to see and hear him. We've seen him twice this year and Nov.11th will be #3. He still sings better than anyone singing today! Give his performing name and his life back! He is a VOCAL TREASURE, says my wife, and should be treated like one! Jay, TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH, BE HAPPY AND NEVER-NEVER STOP SINGING

Jay Traynor isn't worthy to carry Jay Black's jock strap. He should go get a life other than singing.

I agree 100% that Jay Black had (and still has) THE best voice in all of popular music. I'm classical-oriented in my musical tastes as a general rule, but I am definately a hard-core fan of Jay Black. Traynor? Forget it - just another non-descript voice among the many also-rans. He knew he wasn't any good in the first place and bailed out. His solo career went absolutely nowhere too. I'd drive across the country to hear Jay Black; I wouldn't go across the street for Jay Traynor. I trust that the judge will use common sense and at least allow him to retain his Jay Black professional name. Shoot - let has-been Traynor have the "Americans" name, it won't do him any good. BTW, a bit of trivia. The composer of "Cara Mia" was none other than Paolo Mantovani (yes, the orchestra leader) who wrote the music to that song. He had to use a nom de plume for legal reasons, I believe.

I have seen Jay Black perform twice at Westbury in 2003. His voice was magnificent, he is the best showman around, and he has an incredible sense of humor. It really bothers me what is being done to him. Traynor is a nobody compared to Jay Black. Hang in there Mr Black I am rooting for ya!
