Atlanta to Host National Black Arts Festival 20th Anniversary

God help us if there was a National White Arts Festival...that would be racist, but its OK to have a National BLACK Arts Festival.

We dont have White Arts festival but there are plenty of "Italian, Irish, Polish etc etc etc" festivals around.

I plan to go this year. I hear it is very nice.

Big deal, they are not referred to by the dreaded word "WHITE" are they, because whites are of no consequence and to do so would be racist. Blacks cannot be racist...Yeah Right?.

I am white, however I am not narrow minded- I judge people by their character and their actions not by something they cannot help like their race. I have had good and bad experiences with all races including my own.

As a person very interested in all cultures I have been to Black, Asian and Hispanic festivals and have had fun and been welcomed by all.

Shanabella means literally beautiful Shana in Italian. That shows how ingnorant and uneducated you are. You claim I am racist--why because I dont hate any race? How does that make sense? Please try to put some thought into your comments and maybe open your mind a little bit. I am a highly educated white women who is friends with all races and we get along well and learn from each other, and by the way learning might be something you should try.

No I was raised to be an educated young women, which I am.

This line of communication is crazy, life is to short to get caught up in something as crazy as the Black Art Festival name. White people chill out, black people relax, who cares what name it is call, all I'm interested in is the music and the arts. Will the controversy matter after we're dead and gone?....Peolple pick your battles, there are to many other important things to be concerned about. Peace

They should combine the black festival with the gay festival so that only one weekend a year is messed up.
