I attended the public meeting at Easton High School on the AMP and thought what a circus. The people in the audience were rude, loud and very disruptive. They were there to complain that they might have to relocate to keep their jobs. Did they not hear they would not lose their jobs? My friend who was with me her husband had lost his job and he is still unemployed. She said that if they were presented with the opportunity to keep his job they would move – wherever. Yes it would be difficult to make the change but he would still be able to feed his family. What is wrong with these people? And the politicians were pathetic. I was embarrassed to be part of the audience. And from talking with other people in the group they felt the same. It sounds like the union will be the downfall of the Postal Service.

So somehow in your mind the "rude, loud, and very disruptive folks were all union members. Did they have some sort of identifying mark ? Do you know WHY they were upset about the move or are you just guessing. I understand your friends pain, but did you try to understand those "union workers" position ? I'm sorry you had an unpleasant experience, but to make the leap from a loud/unruly crowd to "the union will be the downfall of the postal service" isn't warranted. YOU are bring a personal bias to your observation/experience that you aren't explaining. I attend union meetings regularly and we generally follow Robert's rules of order. For you to brand the union as the source of the postal services problems is an obviously ignorant(sorry) reaction. Did you know the post office has overpaid the government 75 billion in prefunding retirees health benefits ? Going to that meeting gives you the right to present facts you observed or information you received, but you've failed to do even that ????

The union (all unions) are the cause of most of the country's problems. They're Obama's socialist foot soliders. I just could never justify how an 9th grade dropout can make that much money because they're in a union. Oh well happy unenployment.

You call union members 9th grade drop outs and misspell soldiers & unemployment ? Wow ! Don't go hunting, you'll shot yourself in the foot. Unless Dick Cheney shoots you in the face. If postal workers were 9th grade drop outs how did they pass the civil service test unless they were VERY intelligent. Besides them, we also have a HUGE amount of veterans that you might like to thank for your freedoms. If blaming someone else works for you then you'll have a long successful life. Try not to waste your time spouting opinions without facts, because anyone intelligent will CHEW YOU UP, junior. As I recall Obama was elected by a majority of American citizens. Finally if you're wishing me happy unemployment, I think you must mean retirement.

I'm sorry it's so easy to make others posts seem so silly. We are facing a serious problem of unbridled greed by a ruling class of managers/wealthy. There is no other place to go that has the possibility of being better than america. Until/unless we set a minimum wage that's livable and a maximum wage that's reasonable we are destined to repeat every corrupt countries mistakes. Rioting in the streets and anarchy/ death and destruction/ waste and hunger. The union mentality had a chance until anti-unionism became the new pride. Why shouldn't people with a common interest/goal work together ? We hate what others have, when we're not willing to sacrifice for it, like they did.....sad

Labeling someone else is so powerful. Now go slap your wife around. Communism and union membership aren't synonymous and it saddens me that you're that closed minded. Try to rationally explain your position or you're just another silly post, my friend. I'm retired and now manage my investments (which probably consist of more than your families worth) and make more than when I worked.....

So if I read a comic book I get to believe in the Incredible Hulk, too ? I don't know of any books that would teach someone like you to think, but please refuse to accept any of the benefits unions have brought us today. Work 7 day weeks for the wage offered without lunch, breaks, OSHA protection, holidays, vacation, pension, sick leave, or retirement. In fact why not go work in a 3rd world country. You may be a friend, but you're not an American. BTW I don't have to care I'm retired, but I have friends and family I care about. You should try it....

Working together for a common goal = UNIONISM = communism ? I guess you must agree with my anarchy prediction. Do you even write what you're responding to before you post ? I understand that young folks like to believe what they're told, but unless you don't anticipate wanting to be able to retire, you need to learn to think for yourself. For every anti-union site you post I can post a pro-union site. The differences are in the circumstances and perspective and unfortunately sometimes a few bad eggs happen. Pick your poison, we're all dying, but try not to think for folks willing to do the HARD job of opening their minds to learning.(Not reading biased web pages and quoting them as the ONLY facts.)

OK I agree with the benefits etc of trade unionism.I also believe there is a certain segment of society which are incapable of working and supporting their families without these crutches. Sir,true Americans can always support themselves without selling thier souls to trade unionism.Thru education and hard work any American can becomer the "screwer" instead of the "screwee". I too would worry about your friends and family because it's going to hit the fan after November 2010.

You write that you agree with trade unionism and the rest is just crap. You have a serious problem. We agree that we're in difficult times, but then you fade into not me, "I got someone to blame". You need to take medication....Obviously a right to work state youngster that hasn't matured enough to express their OWN viewpoint.

Do me the honor of telling me where you work that hasn't benefited from union workers ? I don't really expect an answer, but don't use the power, because it was installed by union electricians, or the dams were build by cement workers, or the underground wiring was buried by union state workers. I bet you wish we weren't filled with blood, because it's messy when it leaks...hahahahahahahahahah PUTZ

Union workers also lead to cost overuns, added cost, lost jobs and remember the American steel industry died because of unions. Unions are killing the auto industry and our education system. Jobs go off shore because of unions. So the bad sure seems to overide the good.
