Dogwood Festival lineup announced

Some of you locals may not appreciate the time and effort put into the Mullens Dogwood Festival, but there are those of us who live out of town/state and plan on a trip to the Dogwood every year to meet up with friends and family and enjoy our "home" and all the memories we created - back in the day. Why be so negative? BTW - Little Texas is a very popular country band - one of the biggest acts they have scored in years...

this is not the real. little texas band. i saw these guys in the paper & they look nothing alive the real ones.

it totally is the real Little Texas band! the members now are the 4 founding members of the original group. the original lead singer and keyboard player is no longer with them and pursuing solo careers. search facebook for their fan page to listen to their old and new tunes. if you enjoyed them back in the day, you will LOVE them now. their harmonies are top notch and they still rock the house. they put on a kick ass country rock show.

If i wanted to hear christian music then i'd go to church.Can't we keep this open to any one and quit stuffing a bible down their throat.

no one is forcing you to listen to anything, the times i've been to the dogwood, the singing has always took place in a building beside the police department, not sure where it will take place this yr, but if you dont wanna hear "gospel" singing then just leave before they start?!
I think it's wonderful that they include gospel music at the dogwood festival, gospel music is as much of our heritage as anything around here!!
I just wish they'd gotten a more well known singer to sing this yr.
I remember in times past, them getting groups like the Comptons (chuck compton and his group from Logan) or Ivan Parker from Bill Gaither homecoming fame.
Why they dont try for someone like the Bowling Family, Jason Crabb, Crabb Revival, The Paynes, The Dunaways, The Singing Cookes, Kevin Spencer, or someone good like that idk?
I know these groups will come to the area, cause they've been to churches in Beckley and even here in Wyoming County too.
but will be a interesting time this yr for sure as always, i look forward to it!
