Taser shot kills Winnipeg man

17 or not. This kid F*** up. Where are and were the parents (good or bad). At 17 you make decisions, we all did. I and everyone I grew up with never made decisions like this. Different times, different place, different surroundings. The point is, you screw up, there are consequences. Some are more severe than others. Unfortunately this kid learned the hard way. Frankly, I am supportive of the approach the police took and the result. This was a punk on the streets of this community that is dealing with crap like this every day. At least tax payers don't have to deal with "Johnny" for the nex 30 years in their court and jail sytems.

My only question is -- how did it take so long? Cops in Winterpeg are the most ignorant, nasty morons in Canada. They like to beat poor squeegee kids and homeless people and suck up to merchants and the chamber of commerce -- evil errand boys. I am only surprised the slob skin head cops here did not tazer someone to death before now!!!

If you don't like Winnipeg, MOVE THE HELL OUT and STOP WHINING!

The damn kid had A KNIFE. Would you prefer that the cops pulled out their gun and shot? The Taser is the most logical option.

If you were a police officer and a little prick was pointing a knife at you, what would you do? Ask for a HUG? Come on, the officers have two options: Taser him or shoot. Shooting him carries the risk of a serious injury, and risks innocent pedestrians. But the Taser is a single shot, and usually it disarms the attacker and they survive.

There is always a risk, and if the guy decided to risk his life like that, it is his fault.

Go grow up and stop whining, and move the hell away from Winnipeg. Maybe South America would suit you better? Maybe Cuba? They have such wonderful Police systems, I'm sure you'll love it there.

I have seen many different law/police systems, and in Winnipeg it is alright. It seems you have not traveled to some parts of the US, the Caribbean or South America, eh? At least here they don't beat you to death. I would prefer to be Tasered than shot or hit with a club.

You should really open your eyes and see how MANY places around the world are ten times worse than Winnipeg.
