I would absolutely agree with that. She was a huge entertainer and did it with class and humor that made all of us laugh and leave the theatre feeling great and gave us all something to look up to. And her voice was clear and amazingly good to listen to.S

I would like to add that the entertainers today don't seem to know what class really is.

Yes, she is clearly one of the best...yesterday, today and tomorrow. Beautiful voice,a wonderfully entertaining actress,AND a GREAT advocate for pets. Love and respect her dearly.

It's unlikely this will happen. Too bad. I understand Doris turned down a AFI lifetime achievement award -- so some of the lack of recognition and award is her own doing.

Doris Day is a very natural true to life person, seemingly without affectation in using her talents and abilities and I believe that she gave her entire self into whatever she was doing and as a result it shows in her work.

There is only one Doris Day, she is truly unique. I think the AFI would give her the award even if she will not attend. Likewise the Oscars. Comedy, drama ("Midnight Lace"), singing, and her sheer beauty, and persona make her truly one of a kind. Can't say enough about her. She certainly enhanced my life and countless others.
