I love impending doom and as i lay dying and i was very upset when i found out that they were christian bands. I was like, "really? impending dooms for GOD? come on, look at the bloody text and gorey looking artwork, thats redicuous" I still love them regardless as long as they don't start preaching to me directly through their songs. I cant take them seriously though, its so hypocritical so I have just came to the conclusion that theyre just in it for the money. If you want to be sponsored and get in the scene quick, either go work for disney or pretend to be a christian band. If I had my own awesome band but cant seem to make it, hell yeah! I would pretend to be religious and make moolah while pouring blood and dead corpses all over my cds and merchandise WHOOHOO! then christians will lie to themselves thinking that it MUST be okay to listen to satanic music and then I make even more money! what a deal!

LOLOLOLOL. Just because the music screams about death doesn't mean christians can't listen to it. Not all christians are pansies to listen to acoustic covers of 'God is awesome' or whatever. I personally will listen to anything from Underoath to Knights of the Abyss. If I like the music, quite franky, I will fucking listen to it. I won't go to hell for listening to it, and God will most certainly not 'hate me' for listening to it. It's just some music. As long as I don't go out and start murdering prostitutes and summoning the devil in my backyard, it's all good. Quite franky, I think there is an extraordinary amount of christians who take religion far too seriously. Pre-marital sex will not kill you. It's just that when you save it all up for the big day, it's the greatest feeling ever. Death metal is some pretty sick shit, in a good and a bad way. Sure, I'd prefer it if the lyrics weren't about murder and the devil, but hey, the music kicks some fucking ASS! Not to mention if you chuck that shit into a pit you will get one hell of a reaction.
It is perfectly reasonable for a death metal band to be christian. Me and my band 'Swallowed at Sea' played for our churches youth group on a Friday night. We had a moshpit and everything, we even had our freaking Pastor in the pit. He said he thought it was amazing that he are praising God in such an intense way. Which I have to agree with. You can sing about God all you want, and sure, he will hear you. But if you've got some fucking heavy downtuned guitars, double bass drummin and some fucking brutal as hell vocals screaming the word of God, I think it means alot more. In a genre like death metal, being christian is extremely likely to actually repel fans. If a band is willing to do that, just for God and just for music, I respect them. They play because they want to play, not because they want to make money, and I think that's amazing.
In Summary: Christian idiots can shut up because you don't know what you're talking about. It's perfectly reasonable for a death metal band to be christian and you should respect them for doing something that will drive away fans. They do it for the music, not for the money.

Don't preach to me about knowing what death metal is, You hyprocritical christian you. You obviously are not part of the Death Metal scene and will never be unfortunately for you. Also, what a joke, devilmusicforjesus. What the hell is that. And you telling me what death metal is. Joke, joke, joke. I really like coming onto these forums. I know Death Metal was not founded on religion, but it is people like you who are trying to bring it in our scene which isn't, fortunately, not working. So devilformusic, don't give me a history on a scene I have been a part of for over a decade, because your religious, christian bullcrap is not phasing me one bit. boohooo cry me a river!!! anyone can listen to whatever they want and sing about they want so sing about... so take it easy

Dustin wrote: Jimmy you are borderline retarded. Songs about Jesus are equilvent to songs about Santa. They're cute, but we all know there never was a Jesus, and if you don't believe me read a book or watch the first part of Zeitgeist. First off Zeitgeist has been debunked & refuted multiple times, by people from a wide range of beliefs. Second anyone that knows basic history know there was a person named Jesus that was crucified, his life and actions were even recorded in historical documents written by those who despised him, Cornelius Tacitus, Josephus, Etc. I suggest to anyone who believes the BS that you do, to read the books "The New Evidence That Demands A Verdict" "I Don't Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist" "When Skeptics Ask" "When Critics Ask" & "Mere Christianity" It's sad to see how highly uneducated people are, instead of being biased and remaining in your blinded ignorance, I suggest you research and educate yourself about as many beliefs as possible so that you can go where the evidence leads.

It dosent change the fact that this music is awesome .Metal the world over. although theres lots of us out there who dislike the church ,youve gotta give these guys credit for selling to a fan base thats not exactly the type to listen to the gospel. you've hit the nail on the head bro, these bands impending doom, underoath, as I lay dying etc. Do what they do 1 to glorify God and 2 as stated in an impending doom song to take their ministry to places other people couldn't imagine, light in the darkness. Double pedal jesus metal,:p God bless

Well I love christain deathcore/metalcore it sounds better and has really good positive and good messages christain metal music is better I really Injoy it I love my children my bride is one chirstain band that I love and there's a couple more to. I really wish that every deathcore and metalcore band were christain. But I guess that metal isint always like that some bands just like to talk about bad things in there lyrics we cant change that. But I truly think that people should reach out to christan metal Beacuse its cool and so AWSOME some people may cry Beacuse it has a good message or the beat gets to them I know that happens to me sometimes. When poeple are going through a hard time they can Lisin to christain music and warship and ask for gods help but I also love Christian music like on klove it's AWSOME. I love how christain deathcore talks about Christ and god it's good . Impending doom I love it they talk about god and nailed, dead, risen to me it talks about how jesus and how they nailed him to the cross which kills me when I see it in tv and how he died on the cross fOr our sins but three days later jesus rose from the dead which was very cool and that was gods only son. I wish that more and more people like christain deathcore/ metalcore and that they would love impending doom if poeple don't then there crazy they should give it a try it's AWSOME stuff and to me it just looks and sounds better

Please wait...
Impending doom is not death metal. Deathcore is not death metal. it's a different genre in itself. So all of you butthurt Death Metal people can chill out. I listen to DM too, and I know the difference between that and its lower core-based form. But either way, both of these forms of music are NOT about lyrics. So if a band is christian, it shouldn't matter as long as the musicianship is top-notch.
