And this is why I enjoy the older generation more than people our own age as they have a better since of values, family loyalty to home front, down to earth, have a great deal of history and advice to chat about etc.

Cattle Call! Heard it as a child and it's still in my head 53 years later. Slim Whitman is one of a kind and proof that you don't have to follow tha crowd to make it in music.

A lot of information that I was unaware of. This man really IS a legend! Is there a Slim Whitman day in Middleberg? If there is, I'll be there for SURE!!

So happy to hear about Slim Whitman on First Coast News! I look for him everyday as I pass his home on my way to or from my home in Foxmeadow. Sure glad to see he is doing well!! Hope to see him at the mailbox again. Love to meet him and tell him the story my Dad tells of seeing him when he opened for Kitty Wells in Akron, Ohio. Funny story!

yea you do not find any true classic people anymore especially that have been from this area. used to live out in that area and never knew he was out there. great thing to be in a small town i sure miss small town life as my husband and i are so sick of city life.
ps. i have never personally studied his work but intend to do so.

Have met an spoke with Slim many times in the Publix in Orange Park and he sure is a real classy indivudal. Hope that he and his wife enjoy many more years here in the quiet. Enjoyed his music in New York State as I grew up when Country Music wasn't fashionable as it is today. Kudos for showing the interview.
