Mr. Greene is new to Ross Valley leadership. Where was the leadership over the past 80 years to stem the flooding? If illegal taxes can be enacted for "flood control" (for which BTW, no plan has been formulated), then illegal taxes can be assessed for a variety of purposes with no plan. Good for you, Mr. Greene.

Ty Miller joins the whiners, and pretends that Ford Greene somehow opposes any flood control, and is somehow 'responsible' for the lack of planning by the town of San Anselmo. Mr. Miller also takes a couple pot shots at Greene with outright lies as to Greene's motives and reasons for fighting the illegal and unconstitutional tax forced on the area by Hal Brown & company.
San Anselmo was built on a flood plain. It was a stupid place to put a town. The town of San Anselmo has done NOTHING at all to address the basic issue: they are on a flood plain, and will flood, again and again. San Anselmo has done NOTHING to deal with that. All the taxes in the world won't change it. San Anselmo has instead begged for others to give them money to 'fix' the stupidity of building on a flood plain. they have not required anything of the people who own property on the creek. where are the REQUIREMENTS for flood gates on stores? Oh, they don't want to 'force' the owners to do anything. Instead, they want people that live 5 miles away to give them $2500 to eventually come up with some sort of a plan that also won't address the issue. Hal Brown has no idea about what to do. The San Anselmo Town Council has no idea about what to do. And no one seems to want to do much of anything but make studies and spend illegally collected taxes to consultants. To pretend it is somehow Ford Greene's fault is nothing short of stupid and dishonest. Any 'fault' lies with the fools who put a town there, and in 80 years have done nothing to deal with the reality. |

So are you a fool b/c you moved to a town built on a flood plain and now your upset b/c you have to pay taxes to help support the community you live in (except for the fact that you live in Fairfax). If you didn't have a community you wouldn't survive you crazy Lone Wolf you. So anyone selfish enough to not want to support measures to protect their community should get the F out and go live in the Alaskan wilderness all alone and then you will never have to deal with a community again. To make some stupid argument about something that was done 80 years ago...is just that, stupid. The town was trying to address the issue until your buddy Ford stepped into the picture and halted any progress that was FINALLY being made.

Those words sum up your post. Like the town of San Anselmo, you won't honestly address the issue. |

How long have you lived in Marin Gordy ? |

Re: Paul OZ, comment on S A creek floods. I have lived in San Anselmo since 1935 and many, many years ago the creek used to be bulldozed to clear out debris and keep the town safe, but no, now we can't disturb the frogs or bugs or mice or fish, so now we flood. And we need another study?? Whatever happened to good old common sense. Right on Paul, good for you.........

If the bugs and mice and frogs and fish ceased to exist so would you buddy !! It's all connected and if you don't get that after all this time on the planet then what sort of hope do we have for future generations, if you are the one leading the way....scary. If you kept bulldozing the creeks the erosion would cause sediment build up in creeks and in the bay and then the flood level would rise even higher.....educate yourself, don't just be reactionary. |
