"Uptown" Janice Brown, Jazz Vocalist, Dies at Age 55

Yesterday news became public that Janice Frink Brown , a journalist and educator who also sang on D.C. jazz bandstands under the name of "Uptown" Janice Brown , had passed away on Monday at Washington Hospital Center.

Janice always dreamed she would be a star, we always knew she was our star.

I am saddened to hear that another one of my friends/classmates has passed.
Each time I think of Janice, I see her "ear to ear" smile!
What a precious soul she was. I was totally unaware of her incredible accomplishments! WOW.....
Remembering her motivation/ambition in high school though, totally brings it to light. She was dynamite in a small package :)
I send my blessings of comfort/peace to her family & friends.
She is now singing in angelical style & keeping those around her in heavenly laughter!
