McCartney cameo at Joel concert brings fans back

When Paul McCartney walked onstage toward the end of Billy Joel's concert at Shea Stadium, Rosalia Rosen felt the exhilaration she had experienced at the 1966 Beatles show in the same venue.

since there was a member of The Beatles and The Who there, because both had played Shea back in the day, how come come Mick Jagger wasn't there, because The Rolling Stones also played Shea back in the day?

Also, did anyone else notice that out of all the special guests Billy had, not one was a female?

Christina Aguilera would have been perfect. She is from Staten Island and has a great voice. She could have done an awesome duet with Tony Bennett.

Hey Debbie Downer: Why wasn't there a full eclipse of the full moon on Friday night, why was it so hot, why, why, why? What a gloomy, negative person you are! Just wondering, why?
Why didn't Janis Joplin & Jimi Hendrix play again, why wasn't Billy Graham there, where is the black cat, the Ice Capades, why wasn't The Police, Simon & Garfunkel there, why, why, why??????????

"I have felt bonded to him," Rosen said. "Even my husband has known about my connection with him."

LMAO...yes...that is some deep bond...I'm sure Paul is well aware of it and intends to seek you out any day now...

More pointless baby boomer propaganda about the overrated Beatles. Furthermore, the Beatles stopped touring in 65 because the teenyboppers would scream rather than listen to the Beatles attempt at playing more meaningful material. This was because of the Byrds and Dylan. If it was'nt for them the Beatles would have sunk.

Sorry, but your wrong.
First off, they stopped touring in 1966, and for the fact that the group wanted to spend more time in the studio, creating masterpieces.
Dylan and the Byrds were great too.

It wasn't for the Beatles to blame. They began writing "meaningful" stuff in 1965. When they had matured(John 25, Paul 23). And, progressing in song writing they became greater than the others. So why overrated man? If you search carefully and logically you'll find out. But, I gather you are a Beatles' hater. There's a patrol in this Forum. Look out.

Dylan and the Byrds were innovators just like the Beatles, it really doesn't matter anyone's age, the Beatles paved the way for folk rock, right along with the Byrds and Dylan.

Hi Greg, your so right about 1965 being the start of their mature period.

Hi awc and Greg, The byrds and Dylan were great but they didn't match what the Beatles created. Nothing meaningless about the Bealtes.

Debatable. Actually, Arthur Lee and Love were better than all of them. The greates band ever and the most underappreciated! Forever Changes blows St. Peppers away!

Not debatable at all.
Love MAY have had a few good songs, but that's it.
They are nowhere on the same level as The Beatles, and Love gets all the appreciation that it deserves.
The BEATLES rule.
fact, not opinion.

It's great, I agree; However, claiming that Love(the group) were better or "Forever Changes" was better, man! No way. Love had one album and a couple of songs. The Beatles? You have attend Beatles' classes.

So right my friend.
Love was good, but nowhere near the Beatles.
Not to knock Love, but it's the truth as you said Greg.

"Love", "Da Capo", "Forever Changes" are the ones that I have; I never said that I don't like them. On the contrary, Arthur Lee was one of the greatest song writers I can think of. Comparing to the Beatles, I'm afraid that are very much behind them; Allright then, don't come to classes if you don't want to. You can love the...Love, but don't compare them to the Beatles. It's inaproppriate. Doesn't match. Beatles have...more, don't you get it? I don't care if you don't like them, it's your musical tastes, I respect them. But, please, don't you go on posting bad things about the Beatles, at least not here.

That's because the Beatles are over your head.
You can't appreciate good music, your loss.

It's no use trying to explain it to him Greg, he is very closed minded, shame.
