Charge: Cat killed by jealous boyfriend

We need to start to treat people (if you can call them that) who abuse or mistreat animales a bit more as if they have mistreated another human being. That little cat as a child was defenseless against this man. I think we need to really put all abusers in jail for a long time.

I'm not arguing the fact that this guy is an animal, but by your logic, the entire meat and poultry industry would stand trial to be executed by lethal injection.

I am disgusted by this story! There is something very wrong with this man and he should be put in jail for life! The truth is that this man murdered a living being and he will most likely walk away paying some fine. If this man is capable of brutally attacking an innocent animal, what else is he capable of? Maybe we should all beat this man and torture him for hours as well.

Statistics show that an overwhelming amount of people who abuse animals will go on to more violent crimes aainst humans. Over 50% of people in the US consider their pets (not livestock) members of their families. By these two statements, why don't states revise their laws and make crimes aganst housepets harsher. In NYS, pets are considered property. I'm not saying someone should be punished as harshly for abusing an animal as for abusing a child, but people who abuse animals very often go on to hurt humans. So why don't we make their punishments for hurting animals harsher?

Anyone who excuses this guy and anyone like him by saying, e.g. "It's only an animal" is making excuses for a Loser. It's a fact that people who abuse animals very often go on to abuse and sometimes kill human beings. To all you who'll also say Why don't you do something for people?" -It's us animal lovers who are looking out for YOU.

Joe Petcka is a Psychopath. Norman was an INNOCENT, 7 pound, 5 year old Tabby cat. Petcka is a 6'3" and 205 pound man. I cannot imagine what that cat went through....

I hope this monster rots in hell. Please do ALL you can to help put him in the cage he belongs in NOW!

P.S. Petcka also has a history of violence to women. A total waste of a human being.

Animals are breathing, living, and sensitive, feeling, and loving creatures of God - just like us. They feel and think MORE than we do! There is no such thing as "just" an animal. The pain and agony Norman, the cat, went through is indescribable. There is absolutely NOTHING funny about this story.

They say civilizations are measured by the way they treat the innocent animals around them.

I hope Joe Petcka rots in hell.

I am so tired of seeing individuals get away with a slap on the wrist for crimes against animals, children, the elderly, and infirmed. THE ONLY WAY a SADISTIC BULLY like Petcka, AND OTHERS LIKE HIM, will ever get what they deserve, is if we, the public, all write letters to the Manhattan District Attorney's office, encouraging them NOT to accept a plea bargain -- and call the Manhattan D.A.'s office (Morganthau is the D.A.), and find out the name of the Judge assigned to this case, and WRITE TO HIM, and TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW to do the same.

When authorities can SEE by the number of cards and letters and calls they get, that the public IS DEMANDING THE MAXIMUM TWO-YEAR SENTENCE FOR PETCKA, then they WILL be more likely to give him what he deserves (Though I think he deserves a lot more than two years! Studies prove there is a very good chance this sociopathic individual will go on to abuse and kill other innocents -- Only NEXT TIME IT WILL MORE THAN LIKELY BE A CHILD OR SOME OTHER VULNERABLE HUMAN BEING).

Studies HAVE PROVEN: Every serial killer in history, started by abusing animals! People who have little or no compassion for animals, and do not see animal abuse as a serious crime, are people with SERIOUS problems, and a danger to society, unless they get help, and gain compassion for others who are weaker than themselves -- be it animals, OR humans. YES, I believe that HARSH PUNISHMENT and MANDATORY SENTENCING should be given to anyone who abuses or kills an animal, child, elderly, or handicapped -- No question about it.

ANIMALS AND INFANTS ARE EQUALLY AS VULNERABLE, BECAUSE THEY ARE TOTALLY DEPENDENT ON US, AND THEY CANNOT SPEAK TO CALL POLICE OR TELL ANYONE WHAT IS WRONG. THEY ARE AT THE MERCY OF PEOPLE AROUND THEM (That is the first thing they teach at the Red Cross emergency rescue course!)

This guy is vicious to say the least. If you think he didn't do anything wrong you are an idiot. If he did that to any of my animals well he'd be dead by now. Evie, nice letters! LI Liberal just doesn't get it. If you can find out who this person is I'll arrange and pay to have someone pick him up and deliver him to the mental ward.
