Movie review: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans -- 2 out of 5 stars

21 hours 35 minutes? seems a little long

Oh, I see someone stole my idea...that's ok...

I saw the movie today and it was a pointless movie to make. If you have seen part 1 and 2 and enjoyed them then don't bother wasting your hard earned money on this one, because this 3rd movie or prequel does nothing to further the storyline at all and everything you knew that happened a long time ago between Victor and Lucian that was revealed in the first two movies is simply expanded into a pointless 92 minute movie of one dark scene after another. Choppy horrible editing during action scenes where you can't appreciate what is going on at all. There is nothing to the film really other than "Hey lets put a bunch of Vampires and dress them up in armor and have them stay in this wannabe helms deep from lord of the rings and have them fight horribly designed CG werewolves. Sounds like some crap you would watch on the Scifi channel right? Well that is it, and oh they attempt to throw a love story in there too. 1 out of 10.

I saw the movie and I thought it to be a good prequel. Of course you know some of what happened in the past from the other two movies. This wouldn't be called a prequel if you didn't know what to expect. The story of the prequel was more about Lucian and how he became the feared leader of the Lycans. Instead of being so judgemental of the movie you have to enjoy it for what it is. A prequel about the Lycans and how they became free.
