Full story: Examiner.com

I'm no pop culture prude believe me, I've watched "The Jersey Shore" A just like everyone else but for Rutgers University to pay Snookie more to speak to their students then an accomplished author some how seems wrong to me.

Students need to make it known that spending their Tuition dollars on a WORTHLESS and embarrassing speaker is unacceptable and they should either not go or WALK OUT when she is speaking. The problem is, they probably won't. They will want to hear whatever drivel comes out of her mouth and they will probably be texting all through the speech presented by Morrison in May. Sadly, Rutgers is only giving them what they want.

Drew ... your point is quite ironic and true (Snookie making big bucks for doing nothing) HOWEVER I completely DISAGREE with you re: Lisa ... she is NOT an idiot at all ... I concur with her post.

Unfortunately the definition of what is "respectable" and "decent" has been diluted over the generations to the point where both terms have become utterly meaningless.

Young adults of college age are simply incapable of determining what is right and decent because they know no better. They have been raised on "junk culture" - which, like junk food, is addictive and empty in value.

I am saddened but not completely surprised that my alma mater has acted as a "junk food" dispensary by providing a forum for this "faux celebutante" named Snooki.

I have disagreed with many things that RU has supported in the past and I have made my displeasure known by cutting off my donations to them. I do not regret this decision and I would hope that my fellow alumni are brave enough to also do what is right.
