I am appalled to hear that Fantasia is joining the cast to play Celie. This is absolutely absurd! Celie is an extremely hard part to play. You must be able to act very well and sing extraordinarily. Her acting is horrible, and her vocal range is VERY limited. Shame on whoever had the idea to put her on a Broadway stage, and shame on her for even thinking she can handle the part. I just hope that this will not be the end to an amazing play.

I was surprised to hear that Fantasia will star in the Color Purple. I'm mainly surprised because of her limited acting experience. I believe she'll handle the singing parts with no problem, but I'm not so sure about the acting part. I hope she does well. I'm rooting for her.
I saw the play last April and the play was great; the dancing, singing and acting was superb.

Wonder what life would be like if everything you dreamed of doing someone shot it down, before you even attempted it? Would you still try? I think you would. I am so excited for Fantasia! She has an annointing in her voice and spirit that is passed on to each person that hears her. Just as LaChanze has said before, she did a great job with the role because she felt like she could relate to the character because of her own experiences. I think that Fantasia has a lot to bring to the table. She will be taught what she doesn't know and she always catches on very well. Thank God she is motivated by God and not people or she would still have low self esteem singing about her shoulda coulda woulda's. We should encourage rather than knock down what others do, especially if they are trying to live right. God bless you Fantasia...I love you and am so proud of you!

I agree. People are always trying to block you blessing. I'm sure the production team though this out and had Fantasia do a reading and agree that she was capable of the role. The girl is very talented and she is from the south. Color Purple was based in the south. Fantasia could pull this off wonderfully with some coaching, I think she's a natural for this part. People are upset about their on lives.

Fantasia,
God bless you, stick with Ms. Winfrey, learn from Quincy jones and those whom God has placed in your life to mentor you. If you will stay focused and keep God first and do your best he will help you do the rest. Fantasia, don't let other young people distract you. You can play the role of Celie,do people really listen "you are Celie", like so many other women. STAY FOCUSED!!!!!!!! Stay away from drugs, guys and get plenty of rest and focus on your education. Like Ms. Aretha, maybe you can even get a degree in music and study opera. You have the voice and with every other door being made available to you take advantage so you too can be an Aretha, Diana Ross, Patti Labelle, Tina Turner, Mary J Blige, Maya angelou,(have you read her books???) and Ms. Winfrey.
Congratulations Ms. Barrino, stay humble.
Give a Tony performance make. God your Mom and Ms. Winfrey proud, with Gods help, you can do all things through Christ which strengtheeneths you. Read your bible daily and pray and like Ms. Winfrey never forget it is God who has given you the power to get this wealth. Deuteronomy 28:18 and please don't forget to TITHE!!!!!!!!!
From someone who wants you to succeed!
P.S. to the person who said you could not act, what does she think your were doing in the movie which you surprised everyone with on Lifetime, and Debbie Allen who si an acomplished director seemed to think you could. Ms. Winfrey and Mr. Jones have been around a long time and they know exactly what they are soing and you have to begin someplace, there is a first time for everything. Be Blessed

Are you serious! No Talent, No Vocal abilities? Fantasis? You are crazy to say such of thing because she has the skills to do both... She definitely can sing and act. IF not Oprah wouldn't have hand pic'd her. Quit hating!!!

Fantasia is GREAT!! I loved her on Oprah and I am proud to say that she is doing her thing...That voice of her's is amazing and that new album is just as Great. It is so different and thats what we need in music right now. She was beautiful and classy on Oprah and this may be a little embrassing but she made me cry... I'm a man who hasn't shed a tear in over 9 years and this girl song that song and made me cry. I had never felt so better in my life to shed some tears and let go of the anger... I will support Tasia in whatever she does... She is our future Aretha, Patti, and Tina all in one! Tasia Keep doing it! God Bless.

I'm so happy for Fantasia! She's perfect for this role! Move over DreamGirls and watch out for the Color Purple. She's going to win a Tony, I'm sure of it! I'm so glad she'll finally be working with Quincy Jones, with a more sophisticated sound we'll be hearing a lot of her in the next few years! I'm so excited about this and wish her all the best! You go girl!!

Is there anyone out there who believes that nothing just happens? This role was waiting for Fantasia and watch what I say: This play is going to minister to someone who thinks that they can't make it bacause they are too ugly, too dark, or too something. May the Light of God shine on us as this young, beautiful, black woman remind us that we may have some issues, but we are HERE!!!

Fantasia I'm so proud of you, God has given you the gift and talent to take you places you never dreamed of going. Keep God first and always stay humble. God gives favor to those that humble themselves and that is what he has given you. And appreciate the criticism and negative words that come your way because that only should motivate you and keep you communicating to your God. Also that song you performed that night you won the American Idol those words that rolled from your lip were words that determined your destiny (in my opinion) they were words of life and determination. Stay Strong and DO your best and PLEASE STAY REAL I LOVE YOUR SPIRIT!!!!!!!!!!1

Why can't you haters just be happy for her?? Fantasia can buy you and your family, and no matter how much you try to belittle her SHE IS STILL RICH, STILL MAKING MONEY, and quite frankly your opinion doesn't matter! Obviously others seem to disagree with your prude comments, thats why she is starring as CELIE!! I AM GLAD THAT FANTASIA IS GOING TO STAR IN THE PLAY, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GIRL! SHAKE THE HATERS OFF

My rebuttle to "the infuriated Theatergoer"
I dont have to much to say but, I belive that you are very negative person that has never accomplished anything in life or gone through obstacles to come out on top. Fanatsia is a prime example of that described above, and if you do not think that she is strong enough or talented enough to carry the role, pray that God gives her that to accomplish your expectations of her. And in Summary if Oprah believes in her talent, who are you to say she can't?

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Leo

If you ask someone to give you a hand today, don't be surprised if they make a mess of it. That's probably because their mind isn't on the job, but it might also be because your instructions aren't as clear as usual. So before you get angry, check that what you said made sense. Relations with someone older or more influential than you could also be blighted by confusion or doubt now.
