Let's see him spend a day on an auto assembly line, stocking the milk refrigerator in a Wal-Mart, or on the back of a garbage truck in any city or county in the U.S.

Disgraced joke is a good description.

This was not the place to be putting on a comic routine, and shows what a joke the Congress has become. I think it was meant to be a distraction from the real hearings on the voting scandal where the Black Panthers' case was not prosecuted. That was going on as well. Just like a carnival show, they want the people to watch something else.

He is a disgrace. He is propagating the La Racist agenda by falsely portraying the majority of illegals as working the fields. Only 4% of the approximate 20 Million illegal aliens work in agriculture/landscaping. I don't see any illegal aliens offering their jobs at illegal owned restaurants, in illegal owned grocery/retail stores, in the oilfield, in factories, in offices, and even working for our cities & counties.
He appeals to the most optimistic and inexperienced voting segment of our society, 20 somethings who haven't known a time when their tax money supported an American agenda or who perhaps haven't yet paid taxes to support illegal aliens. Luckily, by the time 20 somethings fill the House and Senate they will know better and Colbert will be just a vague memory.

From another article on the hearing-

hoping Colbert's performance would counter the testimony of a political science professor who said illegal immigrants were competing with black and Hispanic citizens for jobs...

Did the reporter not want readers to know who (African American) Professor Carol Swain is?

There is no upper limit on the number of agricultural visas a farmer can get so there is never a "reason" to hire illegals.

Americans do farm work too!

Elsa Felix, 31, from Mexico, has been coming to work at Buurma Farms in Celeryville, near Willard, for four years. Buurma Farms has 350 employees. About half of the migrant workers are documented immigrants, and many of the rest are American citizens.(Dave Polcyn | Special to The News-Messenger)

This guy didn't say a word to congress about the legal American citizens who have lost their jobs, their health care coverage, and their homes.

Nope, this comic decides to defend illegal farm workers who pay nothing for the their health care and, in some cases, little of nothing for their housing.

But hey, he managed to get some more publicity now didn't he?

BTW, anyone here wonder who paid for his trip to DC and/or wrote it off on his/their taxes?

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Virgo

You're feeling restless and need to introduce as much variety into your day as possible. However, you'll want this to be on your own terms, and you certainly won't like it if plans are changed without your consent or you feel you've lost control of the situation. Try to take everything in your stride, otherwise you'll end up feeling exhausted and frazzled.
