Mr. Edwards made movies that were intelligent and sophisticated for most mere mortals. The fact that he married the love of his life and made several movies with her is irrelevant. Mr. Edwards made relevant movies until the end of his motion picture career. Just bedause you don't understand his wit and humor doesn't give you the right to bash his sense of cinema. Thank god, or what ever diety you believe in, for his presence in life and cinema. Mr. Edwards was a master of farce and slapstick, yet he was able to identify with the most intricate of tastes. He will always be remembered as a true renegade of Hollywood. Thank you Mr. Edwards, and may your spirit live on forever!

Nice. For the most part historically accurate. "That's Life" was a critical and financial hit. Edwards put up his own money, about 1.5 mil, shot non union, filmed on location at his Malibu estate, actors paid scaled for a piece of the profit and after the film had its' American and international release everyone involved walked to the bank having made millions.

Blake edwards was a one of a kind director. He was unaffraid to show what was rotten in the human condition in both drama and comedies, He made us uneasy with situations that brought either laughter or a better understanding of the human race. He was not affraid to say things although they were not always pretty and charming. He was not affraid to do many genres and explore many styles and he did the same thing for his wife of 40 years , the great Julie Andrews. By giving her "Victor Victoria " , SOB and " That's Life" He made us see another side of her talent . If it had not been for him we would have missed Peter Seller , Audrey Hepburn , Julie Andrews and Jack Lemon important signature pieces. He will be missed in a Hollywod that does not have much perspective on itself .
