DUMP NEWSDAY wrote: any movie this guy anderson likes this much has got to stink! he's BY FAR the WORST movie reviewer NEWSDAY ever had. usually he writes a political column disguised as a movie review. he supposedly took early retirement but of course still writes for NEWSDAY. just like KLURFELD who's stll writing the editorials although he retired too. pure BS. that's NEWSDAY! the MORTAL ENEMY of the home owners and tax payers of nassau county. the best thing i ever did was cancel their stinkin' paper! So, what are you still doing reading it online for? BTW, it's sad when you have a female portraying you in a movie.(and you're a male).

I'm white, and I am completely bored by Dylan...figger that.

you can't be that bored with him when you are logging in to this forum and posting comments. Methinks you are out to provoke a response. With kids we call it attention seeking

Dylan fans are blinded by their orgasmic attraction. Why bother watching a bunch of people pretend to be him in a movie....it's the self-indulgent equivalent to cross-dressing.

"Orgasmic Attraction" as Andrew put it, is the point. The man is a myth, and the movie is an exploration of the myth. It doesn't seek to clarify, only to point out the fog of myth. The soundtrack is an essential part of this experience; other musical kingpins from Willie Nelson to Calexico reinterpret and reinvent, which is the key to keeping a myth alive. Wonderful!

Like I said, Dylan bores the shit out of me...outside of Lay Lady Lay. And now I find out my crotchety Film Group wants to discuss this, ugh!

Too bad there are no gang scenes. Just a bunch of White Artists with obviously too much time on their hands.

Actually.....in retrospect, I have to give the film some credit. It was a very ambitiously creative attempt at storytelling....The Richard Gere stuff didn't work for me....but I have to give the other storylines their due.....good work.

If you've seen I'm Not There, see it again. The film is so good that it ranks as the best thing ever done about Dylan. Yes!, way better than the Scorsese thing. Not only that, it is just a very good creative movie. As far as I'm concerned, Blanchett won the supporting role oscar.

I liked it, although the biggest criticism of it would probably be that it wasn't very much of a stand alone film. As a fan of Dylan's music myself, I understood most of what was going on throughout it, but someone who had no previous knowledge of him would likely not enjoy sitting through it. The actors almost all did a great job portraying their respective character(s) and overall it was one of the top movies of the year
