<quoted text>You are living in a fantasy world, and yes, I do realize the futility of arguing the point with you, the leading authority of all things musical. I would argue that NOT ONE of the artists named above would have any interest in such a project. I would also argue that the only time it might come about would in fact be when they are dead. You are letting your worship of all things Elvis blind you to the reality of the recording industry. Now before I get slammed once again as an "Elvis hater", I'm not saying it would not be good (who knows), I'm saying the artists,(those in particular) would not be interested....period.
I just think that Sony could do better on making new Elvis discs.

I think many artists that love Elvis would love to do a CD with EP.

However, it would take a lot of care, research and work.

The songs, musicians would have to be well selected for a project.

It's just an idea because quite frankly, there is very little new.

All the artists I've listed are all Elvis fans.

Anyway, in the early eighties RCA rearranged and remixed Elvis.

"Guitar Man"
"This Is Elvis"
"I Was The One"
"Always On My Mind"
"The Memphis Record"
"Reconsider Baby"

Jorgensen releasing the same material over and over is pointless.

He just did "Big Beat" and "Elvis Presley" (legacy edition)

The same material of stuff I've had for years, right?

Why wouldn't I want fresh ideas for Elvis?

I would buy it instead of walking away disappointed.

I did find a bargain tonight after I took my wife out for dinner.

A CD called, "Albert King With Stevie Ray Vaughan In Session"

It's not something I've seen before, but it was only five dollars.

I'm not here to argue with Elvis fans about Elvis.

OB lost me at Bon Jovi - the biggest pretender wanker in the rock scene today.
Another duets album ... please, no more electronic trickery.
I coulnd't care less if Elvis never makes it onto the charts again; it's no big deal.
The Big Beat set was not aimed at the casual fan, but the serious collector. Fifties-ophiles are grateful to have everything from Elvis' seminal year in the one place, and more.
The set is critically acclaimed and Grammy nominated, and garnering positive publicity for Elvis ... but old Ernst must have failed because it doesn't fit properly on Octopus' shelves.
Oh, the horror ... the horror.
And to sneer at FTD because the product is "impossible" to store ...?
I mean, really ... come on. That's a joke, right?
Did he complain when CDs came out that there was gonna be too much space left over from where LPs used to go on his precious shelves?
If all the FTDs came out as normal-sized double CDs, he'd be bitching and moaning about how all the info is being squashed into a tiny booklet.
Meanwhile, I'll be enjoying the FTD of Promised Land once again.
Bon Jovi is no longer part of the rock scene today, Presley Fan.

He's been around for close to 30 years and is still playing.

Bon Jovi stuck around and still has fans while others faded away.

That must mean something.

I've never bought any of his music back in the eighties.

I thought he was a poser.

But he is a big Elvis fan so cut him some slack.

Bon Jovi is still better than most of the crap that's around today.

So I complain about Jorgensen and what he puts out?

I have the right to criticize Ernest Jorgensen if I want.

I'm an Elvis fan of long standing.

Tom Petty met Elvis on set of Follow That Dream -Robert Plants a big fan but Im not interested in Duet album - im interested in Elvis reimagined album with different backing.
I guess I must must be poor compared to you guys -Im gonna get legasy Elvis Country since I only have original vinyl LP . Id like to have Jungle Room FTD cd but have bought it yet ,just seems expensive at $40plus ?- same with Promised Land FTD but I guess thats like 2 cds for price of one.
Ive been Elvis fan for 40 years but I always see colector fans commenting like every fan has complete collection of every song Elvis recorded.Elvis Country Legasy edition which combines Love letters LP with it plus bonus songs is a good buy and easy to get- I think it will do good on charts and get good reviews

Back in the eighties it was chicks that dug Bon Jovi.

They were a pop hard rock hair band of the day.

I really couldn't stand them, but they continued making big hits.

But by todays standards, Bon Jovi really wasn't all that bad.

Jon Bon Jovi is really a rocker for women fans that still like him.

He did do some decent music regardless of what you might think.

I can think of worst bands that were certainly pretenders.

Since Jon Bon Jovi does think highly of Elvis, I can't fault him.

He can play with other great musicians and he could be really good.

The eighties were a long time ago and Jon Bon Jovi is still around.

If he were crap, he'd be just like the rest of them.

Completely forgotten playing in some seedy club somewhere.

Bon Jovi may not be as big as they once were but still have fans.

So what?

Bon Jovi was NEVER hard.

An overrated hair band is all they were.

Rock'n'roll pretenders in the extreme.

Dude, I could care less what Bon Jovi were.

There were so many bands in the 80's that sounded great together...

BTW, Bon Jovi's second album was called "7800 Degree Fahrenheit"

It had the rocker, "In And Out Of Love"

In my opinion, it was their hardest album released in 1985.

Like I said, Bon Jovi were a chick band.

Girls liked them and if girls liked them, it could benefit you.

In the mid eighties we played all the hair bands around the clock.

Who cares if Bon Jovi is overrated?

So were so many other bands. So what?

Can't believe this arguement over that Jon Bon Jovi meathead...

He was still better than Michael Jackson and Culture Club, right?

I would make a blues album with new backing tracks with some duets.

Bluesy guitar solos and extended new pieces into the songs.

I would make sure that all the tracks are well done.

I'd make sure that the concept and design stays faithful to Elvis.

I'd research what songs would fit together based on theme.

So the album flows natually as one piece.

I'd make sure that all the musicians are inspired by the music.

I'd work on it to make certain that it sounds right.

I'd use studio outtakes and masters from all eras...

But I'd stay away from any "greatest hit" using less known songs.

I wouldn't do it for sales, but for the art of doing the blues.

Just do a great Elvis CD that does away with Elvis in a jumpsuit.

Something that would surprise the sixties culture to Elvis's worth.

That would make me happy, that's all. I know it can be done.

Use a little time and imagination with the material.

An album that people would never stop playing once they hear it.

Elvis was Elvis because there hadn’t yet been a Michael Jackson. Elvis was Elvis because America was not ready to allow their white daughters to fawn over a black man performing black music.

Music-wise, Elvis might have been the King of America, but time's over for that. MJ is the King of the whole world.

MJ is the real KING.

MJ is a GLOBAL icon. He is the biggest star on earth. He will live forever.

That's funny.I'm pretty sure Elvis has more fan clubs around the world, sold more records and played to a bigger tv audience around the world than Pedo Pan.

In the beginning there was Elvis. For 9 year old me with my first walkman. Then The Beatles, then The Doors, The Velvet Underground and Jimi Hendricks, then Guns'n'Roses, Leonard Cohen...

And the ones I was a little ashamed of liking: NKOTB, early Vanessa Paradis, Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan and Michael Jackson.

These days I enjoy Lykke Li, Nouvelle Vague and classical.

Elvis, MJ and The Beatles are interesting as cultural phenomena.

Elvis' and MJ's lives can be viewed as exemplary tales for potential addicts.
