It was Dolores Hart who made the arrangements for Elvis to meet with Mario Lanza, his idol, who was in turn Dolores' uncle. That took place in 1957 in Philadelphia, after one of his concerts there. A year and a half later, when Lanza lay at his dying bed in Italy and Elvis was in Germany, the Lanza family started to receive mysterious contributions from an unknown person in Germany, you know to help pay the huge hospital costs, and in view of what was then known, namely that lanza did not have the cash to take care of it. It was Elvis, according to an also unknown person who lived through the entore episode.
