Debbie Reynolds had two kids with Eddie Fisher--a girl and a boy--not two daughters as the article said. Actress/writer Carrie Fisher is her daughter and actor/filmmaker/investor Todd Fisher is her son.

Debbie Reynolds was one of Hollywood's great entertainers of the 1950s. In her day, Hollywood still had some redeeming qualities and movie-making was still an art form.

"Singing in the Rain" and many other great Reynolds movies, like "Tammy," have been replaced by the work of the likes of Robert Rodriguez who dedicates himself to making subversive, anti_American films. The fact that he has been subsidized by the State and the Federal government just highlights how low this country has plunged into decadence and self-destruction. He is now the "hero" of the typical El Pasoan. The Governments, State and Federal, now breed their own fifth column.

It is time for decency to make a stand against perfidy, degeneracy and incompetence.

(This post was erroneously placed on the burglary suspect thread. Oh well, maybe it won't hurt to give it a little extra exposure.)

Tammy and the Batchelor was one of the great "Bayou Country" films of all time. Sadly, that part of our country and their way of life are being destroyed by hurricanes, oil spills and apathy by the Federal Government.

I cant believe 44% of people who took the poll haven't been to the plaza movies yet! Movies at the Plaza was the best idea El Paso has had in a LONG TIME and I for one will be in attendance to as many films as I can squeeze into my schedule...=D

The Plaza Classic Film Festival is one of the best things that's ever happened to El Paso. We love it and go to as many of the films as possible, day and night, indoors and out!

Debbie's grandparents Mr and Mrs Harmon lived on the 3200 block of White Oaks which is now Wyoming St. They lived a couple of houses away from us. We lived there since I was about 3 yrs olds till I was 7. They were the sweetest couple any kid would like to know. Mr. Harmon was always playing games with the neighborhood kids. He loved to scare us. His favorite day seemed to have been Halloween. He had more fun then the kids. That would make his day. I loved to go over and sit on his front porch while he would talk to me and tell me stories. But best of all I remember when Mrs. Harmon would come out and bring a plate of homemade cookies and apoligize for Mr. Harmon scaring us. Those had to be some of the best cookies I ever ate. I would love to go and see Debbie at the reception being held. I hope the date will be announced in thye paper.

The Plaza was a wonderful place in the 60's as I remember going there on Saturday Matinee when the price was 25 cents! Debbie had a cousin the used to swim with us at Chelsea pool, she was really proud of Debbie. We all are!

I've never attended any of the festival's film showings, but would like to.

Question: Do audience members behave themselves at these showings? By that, I mean no screaming/running kids, no cell phones, no talking during the movies, etc.

The above reasons are why I've quit attending movies in the city's regular theaters -- there's just too much moviegoer misbehavior.

Plus, I wore earplugs because the sound systems were cranked up way too loud -- I got tired of being blasted out of my seat.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Libra

You're in an idealistic mood today and only want to see the best in other people. This is typical Libran behaviour, because you aren't good at facing up to harsh reality at the best of times. Today, you're ready to believe that someone is a candidate for sainthood or that they're the best thing that's ever happened to you, regardless of whether it's true or not.
