Why would they cast Jennifer Lopez as a Southern white woman in the first place? She is not a serious actress. She plays herself in every movie she is in, and has too many careers. Pop star, fashion designer, TV-Movie Producer, etc., so when does she have time to devote herself to seriously studying and researching her character, like most A-lister do. She will take on any role just for the money!

Great, Sue Ellen with a Puerto Rican accent. Everything she does has a Puerto Rican accent why is she constantly casted as a white person. If she could act we wouldn't that accent.

The same way they cast Elizabeth Taylor to play Cleopatra. It's about the young, beautiful and box office draw. It's the business of making movies that make money.

thats still a classic to date. Her beauty really made the picture watchable. Wasn't Vivien Legh up for the same role? I guess they couldn't find any egyptian actresses back then.

We have actresses from England , Ireland and Australia playing american roles. Are you that prejudice? Why is it okay for whites to take on ethnic roles and not right for ethnic pople to take on the so called white traditional roles? This is the major reason why they are choosing Jennifer Lopez- Blacks and hispanics make up the majority- have you been following your census lately and the stats.

Now if you want to reasoon on what role she should play is should be the one Pam had. Her character was suppose to be part cherokee. JLo could fit the role plus its the younger role. I think she looks to young for the Sue Ellen role. Why not cast someone older--for the Sue ellen role? Then you would have a point. But her presence in the movie would at least sell tickets. Thats why they are getting Travolta.

It is obviously you don't know the history of the movie industry or you are just being naive. Several Black or Latino actors could have played Cleopatra. During that time the industry was doubtful and yes, prejudice against using ethnic actresses in leading roles. That's why is was important for Halle Berry to do the Dorothy Dandridge story. Her pertrayal depicted the struggle of Dorothy and other ethnic actors to get good, credible and realistic roles in the movies. It is folks with your attitude that we must continually address and educate.

Did I say I was ignorant --by no means. I made the remark because the role should have gone to an Egyptian or middle eastern. Back thenHollywood was defintiely prejudice back then thats no secret. Please by the way the had Shirley Temple playing an asian woman that was laughable. But I know they are still taking small baby steps and there is still alot of struggles between actors of ethnic backgrounds. Did you read the article how they have to get a latina or light skin black to play opposite a black person as a romantic lead. Or that they had to darken Simon Bakers skin in the movie "something new" so that he could look better next to Sanaa Lathan. did you know one of the main characters in brokeback mountain is hispanic in the book. You will see alot of that. Its been going on forever. please so by no means think I dont know how the industry works. Money is the name of the game. Right now the young independent filmmakers are making thier marks and are changing the tides. The industry is recognizing that the market is more diverse and know where the buying power is. Ballywood is an example of that.

she has two films she already wrapped on. One She pays a reporter investigating the mysterious deaths in Mexico. Antonio Banderas also stars in that one. The other is a bio[pic she just wrapped with her hubby Marc A. The first film is based on true events also.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Scorpio

If something is bothering you, it's important that you say so now, loudly and clearly. It's no good bottling things up any longer because that will only lead to resentment and a slow-burning anger. However, it's important that you know when to shut up too, otherwise you might overstate your case or sound so demanding that you turn others against you.
