Furthermore, why didn't I and all of the other Long Beach TAXPAYERS receive an invitation to this event? After all, I am one of those Long Beach TAXPAYERS who is financing these events. The least they can do is invite me to it.

Judged: 2 2 1 Who was fired for this? Nobody. And the sham of a council continues to throw money at this misguided and mismanaged entity. These are the same people who have lost "valuable art works" belonging to the city according to the cities auditor. The same situation is going on with the Aquarium bonds that were dumped onto the backs of taxpayers. The real slap in the face is that the Aquarium board members and management REFUSE to hold open meetings. Taxpayers have no idea what these "managers" are doing with this so called city asset. Most likely they are lining their pockets while burdening us even further with unknown debts. |

Judged: 1 1 1 http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm... Also could not find their financials on their website. You know, it always worries me to donate money to a 501c3 that don't present their financials. |

Personally, we only give to the Food Bank now. http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm... We have a city that is spending our money to try and be something it isn't. If we were to talk percentages, how does our city's support of it's tourist and societal assests compare to other cities? It's really more "wrong" when our civic leaders don't correct the pension and medical overspending for our public sector workers (primarilly safety, not the regular working staff of the city), prior to cutting bus routes, recreation and park support and other civic supports. Our safety spending is 70% of budget. LA's safety budget is 75%. Cities are neading for a meltdown. In the meantime, voters continue to put Union Puppets into California offices. So who is the most "wrong"? Our cities trying to support the arts or our voters who are not educated on the real econimic issues and what really needs to be done. Stupid California voters. |

Judged: 2 2 2 If you are a Long Beach TAXPAYER, you give to more than just the food bank. City Council donates your tax money for you to the Aquarium, Queen Mary and DLBA, all non-profits sucking the life out of TAXPAYERS. |

Judged: 1 1 1 In addition, why do these chumps think it is ethical and moral to get into office and then supports causes that are supported by the threats of the Safety Unions? I cannot imagine how many threats the Mayor and the City Counsel get from our safety union members. That is why I will never run for office. I would be forced by my will to do what is right and it would get me killed by the members of our safety unions. There are hundreds of movies made over the years about the corruption of our safety union members. Do you suppose that there is some reality to all the stories? We probably have more criminals in our safety unions (as a percent) than we do in our society (as a percent). What does this tell you. Also, why do you really think safety union members get such gravy retirement packages? I have never seen a single Long Beach Police Officer or Fire Fighter at a Christian Long Beach Church once. |
