“Shadowville All-Stars!” Since: Dec 08

After owning the new Lou Reed record for a little over a day, and barely getting much listening time in, I already have two favorites, Track 5, "Iced Honey" is classic Reed, riffs & lyrics, and Metallica provide superb accompanyment, probably the best since the Rock-N-Roll Animal album almost 40 years ago.
The next favorite of mine so far is "Brandenburg Gate"... again, classic Reed with nearly perfect backing. The negative reviews are absurd, but I've understood Lou Reed since the 1970s, and this one is a grand return for the man. -- Music & poetry from Will Dockery: http://www.reverbnation.com/willdockery |
