Why do "reporters" not research who and what these "occult experts" represent?

http://www.witchvox.com/va/dt_article.html...

These people see Satan Worshippers hiding in every shadow. They're in it to get publicity; they make these "documentaries" that purposely misrepresent other faiths and rake in the big bucks from the people they scare. They rail against cults - but operate exactly like one. Misdirection - "Oh, look, there's a cult over there...unlike us; if we were a cult, would we be pointing cults out to you? We can't be a cult if we're pointing cults out to you..."

Like that guy on another thread with his "beware the gaia cult" rants.

Yeah, I know. He's attacked some people pretty hard - he can push the "right buttons" when he wants to. On the "Gaia Cult" thing he mostly just posts YouTube links. I wonder if he gets paid to post those links? Guy must have no life except watching YouTube vids and posting them on here.

I've noticed that, too. It's like YouTube is his new bible or something. He seems to think if something's on YouTube, then it must be true.

I, too, have seen a number of his posts, and he is downright hateful.

Good grief, JK Rowling is a Catholic and after the last book was written and out, plainly stated that any Christian themes found in the book were deliberate and intended by her.

So is it now a battle between a Catholics with imagination and the fundies?

Haven't you heard? Fundies rip Catholics for honoring the BVM - they think she's some sort of demon.

I thought JK was a closet witch. She's kind of alluded to it on several occasions anyway. The beauty of these HP books is that no matter how much ranting and raving the fundies make about them they still sell like hotcakes because they are such a great series.

I'm looking forward to the next Golden Compass movie where they kill God. Pat Robertson is going to crap in his pants.

Maybe she is! I'd love to see her come out of her Broom Closet! I didn't read any of the Golden Compass. Are they really as anti-christian that everyone (Catholics) makes them out to be? I saw the movie, wasn't that impressed with it quite frankly and really couldn't see what the big deal was as far has being blasphemous.

Hey, Clark--and the rest of you, for that matter--here's a book y'all might enjoy: "The Jehovah Contract," by Victor Koman.

From the back cover:

"Dell Ammo, Assassin for Hire. The title wasn't on the door, but my customers knew who I was and what I did. I recognized Reverend Zack right away. He was one of the biggest evangelists on TV.'I have a job for you, Mr. Ammo,' he said.'The project involves a single killing. One being.''Being?' The Reverend smiled.'He is known by many names--the King of KIngs, Allah, Brahma...''But--I don't even believe in God.' He leaned forward.'You don't have to believe. Just assassinate Him.'

Avon Books, 1984 & 1987

I hope you guys can find it. You might have to check your local used book stores.

Sounds like a Terry Prachett movie I rented the other day for myself... I mean my five year old.

The Assasin's Guild was asked to eliminate the Hog Father (a Santa Claus figure).

Interesting movie. I recommend.

Hogfather is wonderful! Terry Pratchett is an absolute genius. He was diagnosed with Alzheimers a couple of years ago, which just goes to show there is no justice in this universe.

Sadly, it happens to a lot of wonderful people...

I haven't read much fiction lately, but I am guessing as my son gets older, I will get back into fantasy more.
