I think that "The Human Factor" would be a fantastic movie not only to tell the story of how Nelson Mandela and South Africa destroyed apartheid but to also boost the knowledge of rugby in the US. I have played rugby for over 13 years and every year we struggle to get the word out in the US that Rugby is a fantastic sport that takes an incredible amount of team work and can help young people learn many, many skills other than fitness.
Thanks for your efforts in this! Chuck Herron cehkek@yahoo.com |

It would be unbelievable if this film were made. As being from England, I love rugby (for 11 years) and going to play in SA in the summer. Showing the US what rugby really is and get a bit more appreciation from the lads cross the pond would be great.

That's amazing. That was really an emotional match and it showed how rugby can reunite a nation. It has done so in the 2007 rugby world as well. The people were reminded again of the power of rugby in South Africa. The nation came togeteher as one again. Further, as a big rugby fan, I would love to see rugby grow in the USA and hope this movie will contribute to that. I am really looking forward to it.

If this movie gets to the screen, let's hope they used a good rugby advisor. Also, will they tackle the food poisoning 'accidently' suffered by the All Blacks the night before the final?

This is madness Matt Damon Can not play the 1995 springbok captain Francois Pienaar he looks nothing like him & he defenitly won't be able to get an afrikaans accent neither is he the right rugby athletic body shape. Just so you now south-africans do not take lightly on rugby films with our name on it that looks like crap have a look at a local rugby film Called number 10 & I garentee you that that film was pissed on Matt damon can't play that role. its like letting The rock johnson play Kobus Wiese (no 4 Lock in 1995) Get your facts straight

Of course this movie will make it to the big screen- it has the combination of Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman, two a-list actors, for a start. It's being directed by Clint Eastwood and that almost guarantees that it will be good enough to be oscar-nominated if not oscar-winning. I don't even think I could tell you what this means to south african actors- the possibility of getting a casting call(even if it's just a one-liner) for this is mind blowing and anyone would be psyched. Just so you know, not everyone in the RSA acting industry is terrible at their job- it's just that producers would rather have a recognisable face in their film so as to get people to go and see it, rather than take a chance on someone who could be better but no one knows. That is the way that the south african film industry works. I know. That is also the way that films are chosen to be put into production- rather go with the well-known formula of someone we know than try out something new and contemporary and relevant to the target audience (which is actually under-30's since they are the most likely to go out to the movies- older people generally watch dvds, or wait for movies to come onto tv.). Anyway, this is still cool and I hope I get a chance to go for an audition. Also, hopefully, people will learn how to spell "Mandela"- it's really dreadful the way that Madiba's name is spelt on the net sometimes.

If they need extras to play against Matt Damon, I would love to line him up and do a Johna on him.

Is it me or has anyone noticed that Clint Eastwood voice is so hoarse now?

Hahahaha, wana bet, your famous springbok captain admitted to it in the 2003 world cup then again when he went around competing against new zealand for the 2011 world cup so maybe you should get your facts right. Sorry buddy but its just so unfortunatly true, but the best eam one, you do what you gotta do to win... that movie should put south africas worst kept secret out to the rest of the world. Still my favourite final ever though 95' even though we lost. wont see it again, least for a while. movie sounds shit by the way. hollywood should stay away from attempting this film... |

Ye, blame "food poisoning", and not your constant and well documented inability to perform on the biggest rugby stage of them all.
95, 99, 03, 07. cry more please |

Rugby is our traditional sport in South Africa and our players are truly the BEST IN THE WORLD! South Africans are excellent sport people and also hardworking people - they have strong beliefs and dicipline and honest people - no matter what the politics say about the past and apartheid, South Africans admids their mistakes and move on - they don't think that they are better than others, they are only different.

Pathetic excuse .... what's your excuse for all the other WC's you've been humiliated in ? And if you want to talk about cheats ... pick your fave NZ player ... McCaw ... best offside player in the world !!!! |

I did not blame food poisoning my south African buddy don't be so naive!! Purely hoping they put it in the movie, don't be so precious bout your world champs who are a great side and I love watching them speacially when they play the allblacks, I wouldn't say humilliated mate, just useless, but I enjoy watching all those hidings we hand to everyone with our what is it 75% win rate hahaha I love being able to say that, can you? History for world cups who cares were the best team in the world visit this site www.irb.com see who's the best then come back to me you ignorant wankas! And for McCaw haha rated top number 7 performs like the top number 7 and cheats just how they're spose to ya lil cry baby!

oh I don't have any excuses for any of our losses in the world cup, maybe the coaches and players do but I'd say whatever team we lossed to played better and deserved to win, just like any game.... maybe if you had ever been to new Zealand and werent listening to the spinning of your own media you would find that kiwi public are the last to say we will win, just shows your ignorance towards us. Just shows how much people hate winners. Oh and I didn't feel any humiliation when we lost in any of those worldcups, gutted but not humilliated, is that what you feel when you loose cos that'd be very sad, maybe if its what you feel then maybe you should grow up and get over yourself, or are you infact judt a narrow minded school kid who's opinions and views are never justified nor are the taken seriously?
Marina your world champs not best in the world, sorry that's the all blacks no matter how hard that is to accept but your actually ranked no.2 and have been since your moment of glory. Lulzerz we did perform in 95' that's why that game although tryless is still the greatest final of all time, seeing two teams of equal power and decades of domination between them finally have there time to show the rest of the world how to play. For the food poisoning it did happen, pienaar even admitted it nobody blames it for the loss but if you're going to write a historical movie then do it right wouldn't you agree? |

Excuse me for cutting in, but Mr. Eastwood, would you please consider appearing on HOUSE????
HUGH LAURIE is an AMAZING actor and I know that he would love it if you would go on the show. Thank you for your consideration. Nancy, a huge fan of Mr. Laurie's |
