Two thoughts: 1. Not believing in God has no affect on His existance. Besides, the controling issue is whether God believes in you. 2. Of which would you want the consequences: Believing in God and finding out when you die, that He didn't exist; OR denying God's existance and living that way during your life, only to find out when you die that God does exist?

There is but one True God the Christian God and those what dont believe in him will suffer the eternal flames. This is the fate of the athiests and jews and moslems and other false religion believers who do not turn to the True God and serve Him. It is those what have turned from God and mock Him that has brought the problems on this country.

I guess that is one way to look at the situation... Seriously though, do the atheists and Protestants really believe a couple of advertisements on the side of a bus are going to change a person's veiw of the world?

In response to Metanoia, that is a very old argument. As an atheist, here is my thought: I'm going to continue to live my life being the best human I can be, and if it turns out your god does exist, from what I understand he is a forgiving and loving god so I know he/she will (according to your faith) reflect upon the life I lived and forgive me my transgressions, allowing me in to heaven. So I'm really not taking any risk whatsoever. In response to Praise to God, I'd rather face your hell than spend it in the company of such a judjemental and vindictive jerk of a god as the one you pray to. You can have him.

Besides, all the most interesting people will be in hell! I don't understand how anyone can believe in a petty, vindictive god, who would condemn people for worshiping her incorrectly, or for not worshiping her at all - talk about a deity created in man's image! As I've said in other threads, religion is an acceptable form of tribalism.

I don't know how the Protestants think, but, as an atheist, I find it encouraging to see that there are more people out there who think the way I do, who are willing to express their opinions openly and without fear.

Without the Jewish concept of God there would be no Christian concept of God. God is the same being/deity, regardless of what religion or even denomination of a religion a person belongs to. To even say there is more than one God is to violate His Commandments, if you believe such a thing. What do you have to say about that? BTW: Jesus was a JEW, and NOT a Christian. Christianity as we know it did not come about until about 400 years after he died. By your "logic" Jesus is burning in hell for eternity then, eh? Bummer for you. Truth is, everyone has it wrong. Until God comes out and speaks so the whole world can simultaneously hear him/her/it we really have no idea what he/she/it wants or even if he/she/it exists.

And now, a musical interlude, courtesy of the Meat Puppets: "Where do the bad folks go when they die? They don't go to heaven where the angels fly. They go to the lake of fire and fry. See 'em again on the Fourth of July." Classic.

Does it not strike anyone as odd that a non-believer who is otherwise a good, decent and moral person will share the same fate after death as a child molester, or a murderer? In other words, Mother Theresa , who by all accounts led an exemplary life, but failed to believe in god will be in hell with Hitler, Stalin, Himmler, Pol Pot and all the other mass murderers, baby killers, rapists and pornographers.

Praise to God wrote: <quoted text> It is in the Bible, the Holy Word of God. That is proof. Explain please: The Bible says in: Psalm 14:1, 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. and contradicts that in: Matthew 5:22 Whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. The Bible says in: Acts 5:29 We ought to obey God rather than men. and contradicts that in: 1 Peter 2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man. The Bible says in: Matthew 4:10 Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. and then states in several other places: Ephesians 6:5 Servants be obedient to them that are your masters. Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves uto your own husbands. Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents. Colossians 3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters. 1 Timothy :1 Let as many servant as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor. Titus 2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient totheir won masters, and to please them in all things. 1 Peter 2:18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. There are literally HUNDREDS of contradictions in the Bible. I thought "the word of God" was perfect?
